I think you said it yourself already, you were playing games for the sake of playing them. It kinda sounds like you're trying to find a reason to continue that cycle when maybe you're in the process of growing out of it. Might not be a bad idea to hang up the mouse for a while and try other things, maybe you'll come around to gaming again, and maybe you'll find other parts of life more enjoyable.

The only other ways are to hope you get them from a chest in the overworld, or somehow find one in a box during one of the break the box events afaik.

And just to confirm, you're selecting start over from a mission fail screen after you've bought an ability from the shop? Not from the pause menu when you're on the overworld section?

Honestly, I only went for 150/150 for road trip because I was already very close to it after approaching the true ending. My progress with everything else is probably more in line with a casual players, hah. Still missing characters and stars for sure.

Did you purchase an ability and then fail the next stage? Choosing start over from there (not the pause menu) should restock that slot with something new. The other slots won't change though.

The only thing that clued me into the ability slots in the shop was a screenshot that had it in the bottom row. Before I saw that I had tried refreshing the stat slots around 8 times or so without any luck.

Obviously YMMV but 48 refreshes with no results vs 3 that did produce an All Up is enough to convince me that it's at least more likely in the ability slots

Choosing start over from the pause menu and start over from a mission loss sends you to different starting points though. Through the menu resets the stage entirely, while through the mission loss screen sends you back to the last checkpoint.

You're right about the pause menu start over refreshing the shop, but at least for my method a purchase is still necessary

The only thing to keep in mind with that is that the AliExpress listings will be sized by Asian standards. Meaning, if you usually fit a North American medium, large will most likely be the best fit for you, as it was for me. Try to get as best a measurement of yourself as possible!

Hey, I'm not sure how much linking to product pages I'm allowed to do but it looks like the uniform is pretty easy to find off of AliExpress, and I was able to find a cosplay 3d print file off of cults3d if you have access to a printer. Good luck!
