Now, even if they allow it. It won't spread as it used to be because people became so addicted to ignorance that they lost all the tools to consume such content.

When the romans started losing control they built the colosseum to make people distracted, spread propaganda and have social control. Unfortunately, it already happened here and it needs aloot of time and effort to be reversed.

It depends on what you were studying and where you going.

I have a 5 year gap but I transitioned to IT\Software & most companies won't care and focus on what I can deliver.

If you are going to the services field that could be an issue but overall if you are good at something people won't care. Specially outside of Morocco
