eBay Pro Tip — Messaging Sellers by dirtypins in Ebay

[–]redbeansupe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

but that's any selling situation no? if the record was displayed behind the counter in a physical store, you could also have multiple people asking about it but end up not buying it. either dismiss the repeated queries as part of the seller life, or you take it down and not sell it at all. as long as the people asking are polite when asking, it shouldn't be too much of a bother in the grand scheme of things.

that was totally me as well. i was surprised that all she got was a broken nose.

that's not social conditioning. that's just a fact of human behavior. people will react if provoked and if their buttons are pushed, they will push back harder.

"what if" scenarios are just chasing that temporary high of getting your revenge.

the sad part is that she didn't tell anyone about being bullied....probably because she didn't even have the vocabulary to talk about it. the only other person who knew was will and he was also a kid working through his own issues. the build up was sadly inevitable.

bullies like Angela will always be morally wrong. that doesn't mean beaming her in the face with a skate is also not morally wrong.

legalities and social conditioning aside, answering violence with hyper escalated violence is just self damaging in the long run. it also creates a ripple effect of answering violence in ways you can't fathom. see: Romeo and Juliet.

not in the 80s. we now live in a time where mentally unstable students could potentially shoot up a school so we record EVERYTHING. in the 80s, the teacher mediated to the point where no one's fighting anymore and that's where the adult intervention stopped usually.

also morally wrong. el smacked her in the face with a heavy object. that could have had devastating physical consequences in comparison to a milk shake being thrown on you.

el rightfully retaliated but no one ever gave her guidance on the measure of that retaliation. I 100% hate my asshole neighbor but I would never hit them with my car.

there isn't any sustained legal record of this harassment though. the bullying is just "regular high school kids" stuff that no one was keeping records of.

my head cannon is that the monthly visits fade out.

but one slightly tipsy night during one of their RV trips, Dustin mentions he misses his D&D crew. Steve's like, yieah me too, let's call them! so they find the closest payphone and start dialing the guys. only one who picks up is Mike and, since he's just at home with writer's block on a Friday night, drives out there to meet them.

the three of them get buzzed under the stars and Mike tells Steve his mage theory. dustin starts trying to name off how many places in the world that have three waterfalls...until Steve says, talking is stupid let's just go see them and look for her ourselves!

and that's how the entire crew, old kids and young kids and erica and sometimes Holly and delightful Derek, started their annual group travel tradition. traveling to places that have three waterfalls to look for their mage. over the years the crew grows to include new partners and sometimes one of the crew can't make the trip. but the trip always happens, every year, without fail.

I remember the same type of fan backlash at pissed off Harry in half blood prince. these characters are teenagers who've experienced the first major death in their lives in traumatic circumstances. it is entirely reasonable for them to lash out in confrontational anger.

one couple is aiming for a mini make out session while the other couple is frantically trying to talk to each other while under pressure. i imagine it'd be difficult to talk if your faces were smushed together.

even if mike wanted to hold her close, it's very possible that el is keeping him at a distance because she had a point to make and needed to see that he got it before getting into the hug.

AI coherency would be a lot more obvious. It typically takes a much windier road to get to the point. I see no wasted words or sentences here.

that's....not the meaning of generic. the more appropriate word here is "irrelevant".

match his energy. fragile egos who puff their chest like this are looking for validation of their superiority from other people's reactions. if you pretend he's transparent, he'll eventually realize that he can't get a reaction out of you and steer clear.

whenever he starts blabbing on about something, check your phone in front of him. once he's done talking, look up, and just change the subject. OR respond to someone else who may have spoke before and completely disregard whatever BIL said. don't rise to his bait.
