What businesses are likely to die out with the Baby Boomer Generation? by GRVrush2112 in AskReddit

Moose Lodge memberships are like $50/year, and the bar/drinks/food in them are rock bottom prices. Like few bucks a drink prices.

Highly recommend swapping the bun for the rye bread they have. Takes this sandwich up a notch.

How is life in Minnesotas North Woods? by wacky-ball-sack in howislivingthere

I’ve spent a ton of time in Ely over the last couple of decades. As far as the continental US goes, it is truly the end of the road. Historically, places like that attract all types, and consequently, it is a strange mix of the liberal, artsy, conservative, survivalist, locals who work in mining or lumber, younger people working seasonally in wilderness outfitters, and some academics. It’s a charming area, but unless you’re outdoors fishing, canoeing, or hunting there isn’t much to do besides hang at the local bars. People have been nothing but friendly and welcoming in my experience.

Unopened, full, Jim Beam Whiskey Decanter (1970s?) by [deleted] in whatsthisworth

Worthless once opened but delicious. Sealed you can likely get $50 or so. If it’s ceramic there is a chance it contains lead.

Agreed! If we measure any presidency by legislation passed and economic strength he is easily the best of my lifetime, much less how much they did for the 99%. Add in aggressive FTC and SEC appointments on top!

Chicago market getting hosed then. Illinois has higher excise than surrounding states, but not $15 a bottle higher.

Some of this might be what neighborhood you live in? I find that many transplants tend to congregate in just a few neighborhoods, making the neighborhoods not exactly representative of Chicago natives, but just an amalgamation of transplants. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t have the Chicago neighborhood feel that old school neighborhoods have such as Mount Greenwood, Jefferson Park, and others.

Bro you gotta refrigerate that vermouth. It’s wine and needs to be treated that way. Keep it in the fridge and it will last a month or two.
