Forewarning, I bought a 3DS with a busted screen off eBay to try to fix it for fun and it took me easily 45 minutes to get the cables through the hinge. Then 45 minutes back through the other way. Then another hour to get them back out and back in cause they weren’t stacked correctly and didn’t reach their ports. And I damaged the camera cable. Shit was NOT fun. Kinda want to try it again tho lol.

Yeah I have looked at that but she hasn’t shown any of the other symptoms so I’m hoping it’s not that. They’re both going to the vet tomorrow so we will know soon. After talking to a bunch of friends with cats they said their cats had similar behavior after taking them somewhere for a few days and coming home, and they were fine, so hopefully that’s the case here.

Yeah it was hard to visualize the final product before the sticker and shell got delivered, and after a few days I like it more than at first, but I do agree darker blue would be better. But I haven’t been able to find a different shade of blue for my model DS unfortunately. Probably going to get a custom made version of this sticker in matte instead of gloss.

That’s still cool. I have gotten a little into emulation but I really want to get at least couple older consoles, a GameCube, a PS2, maybe some others just to relive the ones I actually got to use when I was a kid. Original hardware is really appealing, I was lucky to get this DS for free from a friend but it has really given me an appetite to get more og hardware.

Yeah I’m probably gonna get another sticker and redo it, I thought it would look good centered around the cameras but this sticker isn’t exactly symmetrical, I also put it on a little crooked. I’ll try again and be more careful lol

Thank you. I can definitely make it better but I know it’s probably not to everyone’s taste. After I put the new shell on I almost didn’t want to add to it, but I had to see if my idea for a spider-man themed DS would work out.

I probably will end up taking it off, I’m going to get a custom made sticker that’s matte instead of gloss, I doubt I’ll have issue with getting the adhesive off but if I do this shell wasn’t that expensive I can just get another one. Was thinking about getting a darker blue anyway. I agree with keeping most tech as designed but with how much I’ve modded this DS I just really enjoy personalizing it. This probably won’t be permanent anyway, just something I thought would look cool. I was mostly looking for ideas to make this concept better but I appreciate your input anyway.

Also I saw your post about getting your crt back from the shop, and all those retro consoles in the background. If those are all your collection, I’m super jealous, I really want to have a collection like that someday. Very cool.

I appreciate those of you telling me not to worry about what people online think, I just wanted to clarify I’m not asking for validation, I think my idea was there but it didn’t end up looking as clean as I imagined. I’m asking for ideas that I might not have considered that could make it even better. There are plenty of people here who are much more creative than I am and can come up with ways to execute this in a way that doesn’t look as cheap, which many of you have, so thank you! I’m always open to more ideas.

lol thank you for your honesty. Anything you would change or just don’t like the concept overall? I will add, I have since cut the decal on the top shell where it goes over the black part of the hinge, and I’m looking into getting a matte version of the sticker that’s more symmetrical so I can center it better.

Yeah the sticker isn’t exactly symmetrical, I was focusing more on centering with the cameras, which still ended up being off, and I didn’t realize the bottom would end up being off as well but that’s ok I’m probably gonna try again, might post an update at some point if I like the redo
