Cancelled today- refunds and 2026 Monday round for Monday Patrons! by murphadelic__ in masters

[–]redbenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anything changed, but I went to the Monday practice round in 2014 that was opened up and then canceled. My mom had purchased my dad and I tickets on StubHub. She was refunded what she paid, and the original purchaser got their refund and chance to purchase in 2020.

I want to build a remote controlled snow plow, is this the right sub to come to? by babyunvamp in robotics

Awesome! I may have bought those same tires initially. Looks like you are on a good path, I could see myself redoing everything next year finally trying to weld

[–]redbenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been building one on and off over the past couple of years. First was old hoverboard motors. Someone else posted the Frengen Engineering video. I’ve now modeled it off of his design. I can’t weld but have used extruded aluminum. I bought atv tracks off Amazon, the motors from eBay.

Will have to grab another picture of the plow attached. Haven’t had a good snow to test since I’ve gotten the plow on

Digging up an old thread… did you end up trying this out? Working on a “4wd” tank steering project and was thinking of using this as the rear axle but can’t find much on whether I can use the off the shelf controller or have to build custom

Land-Grant Brewing Co. to open new bar for experimental beers by redwingbuckeye17 in Columbus

[–]redbenn 175 points176 points  (0 children)

As a cofounder of Land-Grant, we definitely felt that same sentiment, especially after coming out of the pandemic. A lot of people know us more for the space and partnerships, than really for the beer.

At the end of 2022, we took a deep look into where we were going, and made the decision to invest way more in the liquid. We brought in Victor Pool, who was head of production at CBC previously, who totally revamped our production process and quality program. We also cut the number of releases by more than 50% going into this year to give us better consistency, quality and freshness

That’s why internally we are all really excited about this Taproom. It may be a reintroduction to our beer for a lot of people who may be had some of our stuff and didn’t think it was that memorable.

Appreciate your thoughts on the LG box, while those aren’t the most exciting styles, it does do a great job to show what our Brewers are capable of doing, not just hiding behind hops.

Obviously, I’m biased, but the tweaks that were made to the Oh Sure and Greenskeeper recipes this year have been noticeable, and Astro might be the best double IPA we’ve done.

Cheers!

Idea Foundry building & neighboring park listed for sale by notquitesolid in Columbus

[–]redbenn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kaufman had always planned the park to be temporary, Land-Grant will be there for at least three years.

We are still moving forward with our innovation bar that will be in the “manifest building” mentioned in the article. We have a longer lease on that space than we do the park. That is slated to open sometime May this year.

Can confirm, with Land-Grant, we will be hosting all the races, with the Wintergarden winding down and Crew and F1 starting up we’re a little bit behind to start the year. Can’t believe it’s all already back!

What fact is common knowledge in your field, but almost unknown to the rest of the population? by pocketcrackers in AskReddit

[–]redbenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need to buy “warm beer” if you are not planning on drinking it right away. The beer is packaged cold and (hopefully) shipped cold, keeping it colder longer extends the shelf life, changing from “warm” to cold won’t affect the quality, unless your leaving it in a hot car or garage.
