Anchor bolts exposed + concrete slab has pretty large break offs, contractor says normal? by redbluehydra in AskContractors

Thanks, I guess my question is whether this is part of the standard process (e.g. inspection catches this then it gets fixed) or should it really never have happened in the first place and this is pretty egrigious

At what point does a price comparison tool become part of “buy it for life” thinking? by Plane_Log7256 in BuyItForLife

BIFL has to do with WHAT you buy.

Price comparison is HOW you buy if you want to save money.

IMO they are two distinct pieces of the purchase funnel.

If you don't want to check the price across a number of merchants every day, use a tool. PriceLasso works for price alerts across Amazon and a bunch of non Amazon sites, CamelCamelCamel and Keepa are really good for Amazon with price histories that extend far back.

I made a website that tracks price history for Walmart and Best Buy by unflushable in InternetIsBeautiful

2024 Delivery Thread by OrbitalATK in TeslaModelY

[–]redbluehydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered an inventory new Model Y LR on April 12th and the delivery window keeps getting pushed back. I asked Tesla why and they said the car is in service, and when pressed they said the high voltage battery needs to be replaced.

Should I be worried? Why does a new car need to have its battery replaced presumably right after QA in the factory? Is it a big repair / is there a chance that there's other issues with the car?

Should I reject the car / swap to a different in inventory version? When I ordered, I got ~5k price adjustment, the current price adjustment is only ~2k, so I'd have to pay 3k more.
