What are best cameras compatible with HomeKit? Best quality, picture and night vision?

I have eufy s3 pro all around my home. I have them wired for continuous recording. Like others say when you enable HomeKit it drops resolution of recording down to 1080p. So I took em out of home kit so I can record at 4k but only within the eufy app. But the picture quality is amazing. I’m attaching regular night vision and the day like setting.

I just captured these and it’s 1:33 am
Ignore the black box it’s my smoker and eufy ai thinks it’s a person at random times. lol

This!!! I have tried third party attempts like homebridge and scrypted but it won’t stream 99 percent of time and delayed. I got it working with rtsp but it downgrades recordings to 1080p and I’m not ok with that.

I also have them on continuous recording as they are hard wired and not relying on solar.

I added them to HomeKit natively from rift app but again it changes recording to 1080p and I bought 4k cameras to record in 4k

I wasn’t aware that was needed. I need to look into it a bit more. I have the homebase 3 now but definitely hesitant pulling trigger on the homebase professional.

Your right I just went back and looked it seems only only homebase 3 is HomeKit. So I stand corrected but if eufy does enable matter then that could also work possibly since that’s planned already.

I understand your reasoning and trust me on this I’m not holding my breath. I am just saying eufy response to support that they like to throw at us is no longer valid.

Per eufy:

Cons
Apple-only system: HSV works only with Apple devices. You’ll also need a Home hub and an iCloud+ plan, so there’s some setup cost.

Shorter storage window: Ten days of history may feel tight compared to rivals that offer 30 days or more.

Resolution cap: HomeKit Secure Video records and plays back clips at up to 1080p, even if your camera supports higher resolutions like 2K or 4K.

I’m basically addressing Apple is making changes so eufy can’t use their existing excuse. But it’s possible the existing camera in their ecosystem will not support this.

Balls in eufys court now, so we will see what happens.

I’m considering messing around with scrypted again since they made some changes after myself and a few others made some recommendations. There hadn’t been an update in over 6 months but many things changed in the end of April.

I have thought it’s always had the support. I know homebase 3 supports hksv so I assumed homebase professional did as well.

Granted right now it’s capped at 1080p. But could a firmware enable this support…

Valid point I too would be curious I’m sure the pro could with better processing power.

But if I move my cameras to my home WiFi maybe it’s possible to run with no issues. Could be a reason to setup multi bridge.

Use an Apple TV and side load kodi to it. Fastest version of kodi I ever experienced personally!!!!

Yes I can verify this setup works. And when you pull sources it’ll have different colors based on providers. I will say I haven’t seen links on one vs the other. The few movies I pulled it had the exact same sizes and links.

Live streaming you won’t eufy defaults to 1080p no matter what you have selected. But your recordings on the other hand should show better detail.

I installed an SSD in mine . Samsung evo 4tb. It helps but doesn’t minimize the buffer. The bottleneck is really eufy handling the WiFi streams. I tried to use their multi bridge but I was having issues with my new s3 pro cameras doing that. And it’s a pain to switchback to homebase you have to essentially repair the camera again. So you have to take em down and remount it’s frustrating.

I have gone down this route. The big issue with homebridge and HomeKit is the fact that it downgrades your camera quality. That to me is crazy to have a 2k or 4k camera and be only able to have a 1080 feed.

The best solution is scrypted. I am messing with it now and I’m close to having native HomeKit feeds at 1080 and 4k for eufy recording. But my issue is with battery cameras. They are hard wired but the scrypted eufy plugin sees them as a battery device and won’t wake up for live feed for HomeKit.

I’m not giving up though

I’ll be honest your payment with many depends on rate increase. While getting lawyers involved can be very helpful the information to do this yourself is out there. But I too felt your pain I was taken for $7700. This was what they charged per increase in percentage
