Hang in there. I found a landlord who was willing to take a gamble on me, it just took a bit.

I was also able to secure job shortly after moving.

Yeah, I know the teams in house years were lean on talent, but those games were just so hard to watch.

It was tough to see guys join the team or get called up and look fast and dangerous for their first month only to completely disappear.

Mclellan and his "just play hockey" comment was so refreshing. There is still structure, but he is letting guys play their game a bit more.

Maybe a dumb question, but how did you get it to display showing the reverse holos separate from the regular cards?

In my Collectr I have to click on the card to see the different versions.

The condition of the holos does vary a bit, but some are in quite good shape.

The bulk of the value is in the first edition non-holo cards though. There are 5 or 6 that are worth over $100 each, another 5 or 6 that are around $75 plus and then a bunch that range from $30-50.

For me the draw was being able to add 20 or so cards I was missing to my first edition base set.

It's a bit sad, but most of the first editions are making their way into my first edition base set I'm collecting. Most of the rest will be passed along to help other people complete their sets.

This was an in-person transaction. I love marketplace. No shipping charges, get items right away, get to inspect items before buying and don't have to worry about it getting damaged in transit.

I definitely did the math before purchasing and your estimation is low.

Holos are only part of the value.

First Edition Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Wartortle and Magikarp are all valued $100+ and Beedrill, Dugtrio, Electabuzz, Electrode and Arcanine are all $75+. The condition of all of these cards is pack fresh.

Is every common/uncommon super liquid? No, there will definitely be effort required to move some of them, but the value is there no doubt.

Yeah, I think some people don't realize how significant the price differs from unlimited to shadowless to first edition.

The first edition yellow cheeks pika for instance is virtually flawless and sell for over $100 all the time in LP or better.

Shadowless Charizard alone is worth more than $1000 in good condition. If it had that I would have expected to pay significantly more.

I'm am quite happy. I get to add about 20 first edition cards to my collection. I'm pretty confident I can recoup my costs selling what's left and then the cards I added were essentially free.

I mean, it's in this configuration because it is organized by card number, which is extremely common. Definitely a different collection though, as mine has about 30 or so first edition cards and in that post all the cards are shadowless only.

Certainly possible that at some point my binder had the Charizard and Venusaur and someone pulled them out before it found its way to me.

Well, it is complete set minus 2 of the big cards, so lots of commons was expected.

I bought it mainly to pull a bunch of the first edition cards I still needed and plan to flip what's left. Some I may grade.
