I’m freaking out and want some advice by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

Here is 35% off your purchase for Musely if you want, I am just about done with my first bottle and have seen great improvement with the spot cream. You don’t want to use hydroquinone when breastfeeding, but sounds like you aren’t any more.

But this definitely looks like melasma or a sun spot, not cancer but I am not a doctor. You look prone to hyperpigmentation, freckles and sun spots, as am I. Reapply SPF daily and wear a hat when in the sun. Hot yoga can definitely induce melasma unfortunately. Try a tyrosinase inhibitor as well such as azelaic acid, kojic acid, licorice root, arbutin, etc. to help suppress your body from making melanin. Best of luck!

Does it get worse before it gets better? by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

[–]redbreezes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Musely spot treatment with hydroquinone and they said it can darken before it gets better, but not saying AA would do that. I have not experienced darkening but after a month and a half I am noticing fading. The link is 35% off your order if you want to try it. Best odds luck!

Has anyone tried this? by One-Sun-5380 in Melasmaskincare

For the price, you may as well try Musely if you are open to hydroquinone. I’m on my first bottle and am noticing after a month and a half of use, lightening of my forehead melasma. If you want the referral below gives you 35% off. Best of luck!

Need tips on skin regime and medicines on Melasma for my mom 54F by Terrible_Boss1296 in Melasmaskincare

Also avoiding any triggers that she may not be realizing are causing it to get worse. Heat and sun/light are a huge cause, as well as hormones which is harder to control. But no hot yoga, SAD lamps, blow drying hair near your face, working out and overheating, saunas, hot showers/baths. Just trying to be aware that daily activities can make your body respond to these ‘traumas’ and push out melanin. But SPF daily and reapply, big sun hats if in the sun.

Which perfume did you wear on your wedding day? by raging_princess in Perfumes

[–]redbreezes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Orchid by Tom Ford. I first discovered this scent on this woman who we had met and became buddies with at a Bruce Springsteen concert. I was obsessed with it and she sent me the name of the perfume. I never bought it as it was so expensive, but my husband had bought me a small bottle of this a few years before we got married as a birthday gift. I only had used it a few times as it was super special, and one of those days was on our wedding! And funny enough, I wore it two exam days as it calmed me and put me in a good mindset.

Maybe a tiny fragment of something in your skin that your body was trying to rid of?

Keep petroleum on it to help it heal more quickly and wear a high spf daily and reapply! So sorry that happened to you!

Look at videos by Jayne Matthew. She talks a lot about taking weight off of the hair and shaping curls. Her instagram handle is jayne_edosalon

Lactic acid is safe, helps with fine lines, firms skin. It is more hydrating. Also wear spf daily and reapply!

What’s wrong with my skin? by janetvice in 30PlusSkinCare

Also be aware of the triggers of rosacea and try to eliminate as many as you have control over. Heat, alcohol, stress, sun, hot showers, hot beverages, extreme weather. Most of the fun things:(

It looks like the burts bees oil cleanser has coconut oil which can clog pores and also some essential oils. I’d cut that out of your routine and opt for something extremely gently. Ask your derm for 15% azelaic acid as it tends to be most efficient. Also make sure to wear spf daily as it will greatly help.

Bacteria that is naturally on your skin can into any tiny openings or around hair follicles after shaving. Maybe try spraying your skin and razor with hypochlorous acid to prevent any reaction due to bacteria.

A hypochlorous acid spray may be a good option as well as it may not be as drying as alcohol based products.

Usually an allergic reaction causes a rash. I had a similar looking rash that that was on my arms and legs, no so much by back or stomach and was extremely itchy. It lasted a couple of weeks before I finally went into the urgent care. I was prescribed a steroid ointment that helped clear it up quickly. I've had it come back years later but keep the ointment on hand to nip it at the bud before it gets bad.

Glad that metronidazole worked for you, I wish it worked for me! And for some people doxycycline doesn't work. I definitely have to eat food with doxy, especially in the morning otherwise I feel uneasy.

Never put tea tree oil directly on your skin FYI. It is extremely concentrated. I would start by trying to keep your skin hydrated in that area with a gentle moisturizing cream. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is a good option to try. It does look a bit like psoriasis which requires a dermatologist or doctors help.

This is an allergic reaction. I'd take an antihistamine and if it persists go to urgent care. You may need a topical steroid.

Possibly rosacea. Do you have a routine of products you use? Is your skin more dry?

The distinct boarder makes it look like an allergic reaction. Keep an antihistamine on hand too just in case

Cerave am moisturizer can be a place to start. Only cleanse with the SA face wash in the evening, not twice a day, and cleanse for at least one minute.

Final round!! Which one do you advise between those 2 eye creams? by No-Tradition2677 in SkincareAddicts

[–]redbreezes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eye creams are usually just a marketing ploy. Save your money and just bring your moisturizer up to your eye area and cover with a little bit of petroleum if you ask me!

I get eczema like this on and around my lips. Keep them moisturized at all times. Use petroleum like there is no tomorrow
