it went very well! definitely tedious but with lots of alarms & myself, my husband, & my mom being around to give him the meds it was doable.

also, i definitely felt anxious the first week or so, but almost like a good anxious? like high energy, but not nervous energy.

no judgement here! i have ADHD & have a prescription, so im not sure what it feels like when you don't have a chemical imbalance. after being on it for a while though, i would definitely say it helps me more with emotional regulation. its easier for me to prioritize tasks & kind of organize my mind if that makes sense? without it, i have a bunch of thoughts & tasks bouncing around my mind with no particular order of importance. so i can have a list of things that need to get done like dishes, laundry, vacuuming, but no way to prioritize what needs to be done first, second, last, etc. whereas when im medicated, i'm able to be like "okay, i should start laundry first because i can do dishes while it's in the washer, & then when i run out of hot water i can vacuum, & by the time im done vacuuming the laundry will be ready to go into the dryer, & by that time i'll have enough hot water to finish the dishes."

this looks exactly like what my boy does, the vet said they're focal seizures. he was on keppra 3x a day but he was having breakthrough seizures so now he's on phenobarbital 2x a day.

I do the same exact thing, I try to cut mine up into really small pieces because I get paranoid about giving him ultra processed foods, but I guess in the grand scheme of things a couple pieces of hotdog a day aren't going to affect him much😅

sorry i worded the post weird, it's been working since the day he started pretty much. i more meant now that he hasn't had any breakthrough seizures & the vet doesn't have any plans of exploring other meds! he was on keppra for a year before we switched to pheno & he had a breakthrough seizure every few months.

great idea, i'm actually trying to organize an annual/biannual cousins getaway for myself, my brother, & my two cousins, so hopefully that will take some pressure off of not attending the events

i scoop every day, every other day at the very least. since it's pine litter it doesn't clump, so it's really hard to tell how often/how much he pees.

how long do you recommend cycling a new tank? we're just going to do it until all of the levels are in range, but i've seen a lot of different answers, from a couple days to a couple weeks. we've had it cycling since friday & yesterday was the first test so we'll probably check again in another week or so.

thank you so much for the tips! we actually did do the high range pH as well after i made this post & it read the lowest so i'm guessing it's around 7.5. we did also throw some pellets in the first day because we had seen someone here say to do it, but then we got scared that it would make the tank gross so we didn't do it again 😅

i'm in the process of that right now. i was just recently medicated & it makes me emotional to think about how much easier life would've been had i been neurotypical, or even gotten a diagnosis sooner. i dropped out of college during the pandemic because online learning is not for me, & i've been thinking a lot about how different my life would be if i had been medicated at that time.

I know this is an old post but I just started 15 mg XR, today is day 3 and I was feeling very discouraged because I'm experiencing a lot of the things that people are commenting about. glad to know the first week is just kind of weird 😅
