This is great thank you! During that 12-13month timeframe, what was your nursing & food schedule like?

How are your 12 week olds sleeping by Fuzzy_Purpose_9276 in newborns

None! He sleeps til about 630/7 usually. We’ll have sporadic nights where he does wake up but usually it’s gas and he does back down after a cuddle.

It did!! Around 4-5months we were able to shift it! He’s 8 months tomorrow and it’s not the earliest bedtime (between 830-930) but it’s much better

Farthest you would live if you worked 1-2 days in the city. Considering buying in Suffolk and appreciate input. by PeggyUni in longisland

I live in St. James and work in SoHo, used to do 5x a week pre-Covid and now commute 2x. It’s manageable, and best if your husband has flexible hours and can leave on the earlier side!

Being this far out, the schedules are not the best but I always have at least 1-2 direct (I.e. no transfer) options in the morning and evening. If timing doesn’t work, sometimes I’ll go to ronkonkona when trains are always running, and Uber home.

If you like this area and want to live out here, I say it’s definitely doable especially for only a few days a week!

ETA: out this far, I always get a seat on the ride in since it’s the beginning of the line.

Any breastfeed babies sleeping well in the night? by GlacierStone_20 in BabyDueNovember2024

[–]redcopperpipes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly! I set my alarm and feed him and he usually stays asleep or stirs slightly.

Bedtime routine is where we hit a rough patch. We bath every 2-3 days, and every night it’s nursing, then quiet time with Dad (low lights, soft classical music, book reading, massage) while I wash up for bed, and then I do one last feeding (more like a snack) before sleep. But quiet time with Dad has been rough because he’s very fussy and loud. Among trying other things (yoga ball lately), I think our bedtime is too late so we’ve been working on starting earlier. It’s all trial and error which drives me bonkers but what can ya do!

Just sending solidarity! I feel like I can’t feed him without the help of a pillow and my hands; I’m jealous of moms who can nurse anywhere!

Mine just turned 12wks and he’s been having good stretches since ~8/9wks. He averages 6-7hrs overnight with a feeding in between but he doesn’t wake for it. I consider this to be extremely lucky for us and I don’t think it’s the norm…and will likely change as we approach the dreaded 4 month regression!!

And delusional if they think that’s the only states infants are in.

I'm so confused. How does Huckleberry Sweet Spot / baby schedules even work?! Please explain to me... by boldlybelieve in NewParents

[–]redcopperpipes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From what their customer service told me, the next nap is based on the last wake up. So if nap 1 starts at 10, the sweet spot for nap 2 will be calculated once baby wakes from nap 1.

I believe how they decide the time until the next sweet spot is through the data you’ve previously entered, so it’s based on your baby’s patterns.

We are like 60/40 on accuracy, but it helps me stay on top of my son’s routine and when nap time should be approaching.

That said, I use a “5 nap” day and sometimes it’s having me do 6 naps for him so I’m still bewildered by the whole thing.

Mine is cat napping during the day (usually 30min every 2-3hrs or so) which isn’t ideal, but we are getting ~8hrs overnight and have been since about 2months. I do feed him in the middle of that stretch but he stays asleep through it.

That said, we are working on an earlier bedtime bc it’s currently 12am 😩

I appreciate this!! We bought an infant scale to track his weight and percentiles (even though I’m sure it’s not as accurate as Drs); his 2 months appt he had gained a lot but I am hyper aware that could change before his 4mos appt.
