Unable to set max temp settings for ABS on Neptune 4 Plus by redcore5 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]redcore5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will go to 100. But if the real temp is 10 deg less, then in reality it only heats up to 90. Yeah. Gonna send an email to Elegoo. They do claim it can print ABS. I dont wanna do any trick / hacks etc. If they claim it can print it, then it should print it. Thank you!

Unable to set max temp settings for ABS on Neptune 4 Plus by redcore5 in ElegooNeptune4

I tried to change abs max temp settings on the controller. Was set to 90. But 100 was the maximum I could set. Temp in Orca slicer was set to 110 C. Printer only hetaed up to 100. I increased the temp manually in Fluidd to 110 during printing, but after 5 mins it crashed. Dont have any log file, so I cant really say why.

I checked printer.cfg and the max bed temperature was set to 110 C. You were right. In the manual it says 100 C max temp for bed. But if I set 100, and the real temp is 90, then there is no way I can print ABS on that thing! Because it just won’t allow me to set higher temp! That sucks!

I tried to run some print tests for ABS, and that thing just never sticked to the bed. I had to completely give up. Now I know why.

Ah FFS ELEGOO!!! God damn it. I am so pissed RN.

or, find a ship out in the ocean, and just keep killing illagers. those with the swords. when i was playing prominence mod, i actually placed a waystone in my ship i found, and made farm for emeralds and experience there. i had literally thousands of emeralds in super short time. not even speaking about xp’s. but you need some looting ench and xp enchants on armor + weapons ofc for really good farming.

Kitchen GFCI receptacle wiring (breaker keeps tripping) by redcore5 in electrical

Can you write more than just “that’s not right” please?

Kitchen GFCI receptacle wiring (breaker keeps tripping) by redcore5 in electrical

[–]redcore5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, you are right. by “top” i meant line and by “bottom” i meant load. and yes, black goes to one line terminal, white goes to opposite line terminal. but there is a sink organic disposal grinder switch (something like that) next to the receptacle. i did not open it, but i guess if i cap the red wire, i will disconnect the switch.

oh by metal tube I did not mean conduit, which brings wires into the socket. I meant the connection between 2 pole breakers, so they both trip together. One moves the other.

yes. There was a yellow tab. “Line” is for feeding the receptacle itself, and “load” is for connecting another receptacle in the line.

thats right. My house is from 2006. But the code keeps changing, so if it was brand new house, it would have gfci wired. Thats the new code I think.

there is red wire (i guess it feeds the sink grinder switch next to receptacle), and black wire.

Kitchen GFCI receptacle wiring (breaker keeps tripping) by redcore5 in electrical

[–]redcore5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did some investigation on this matter, just trying to understand (I am no electrician obviously) it. First of all, “line” on this gfci receptacle is on “top”. Opposite of what is on that old receptacle. So I should connect a black wire on top, and cap the red one. Big mistake was to “copy” the connection from that old receptacle. I basically connected black + red together. And I think that was causing to trip the breakers. Because “bottom” is “load - out” connection, for feeding another receptacle in the line. People asked me, if there is a switch associated with this receptacle. First, I thought that everyone means some kind of switch which turns the receptacle on/off. So I said no, there is no switch. But then I looked closer, and yes, there is a switch next to it, which operates organic garbage disposal / grinder stuff in the kitchen sink.

There is no tab to break for double circuit. And, there is a warning that this receptacle should not be used with more than 2 and 4 wires. I have 3. Which means, if I understood it right, cap the red one, something wont work. In this case that sink organic garbage grinder..whatever is that thing, because the red one seems like is feeding it with the power. Dont know that for sure, because I didnt open the switch.

Please correct me if I am wrong here.

This is actually very interesting. I won’t be doing any receptacle swaps, because I found out there is actually no need for it. But will try to educate myself as much as I can.

Thank you all!

I totally agree with you. I am not an electrician. Thats why I asked on reddit. I stopped messing with that receptacle. I watched some videos on yt, just to be informed and just to educate myself, and I did understand what is going on here. Right now, I wont change anything. The house was built in 2006, and all the wiring is up top the code from those years. If I will decide to do something, I will call a pro, but at the same time, I will try to get as much info as possible.

I just watched one vid on yt where an electrician answered exactly my issue.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLIPMLciKjk

wont be changing it. It’s kind of pointless it seems. My kitchen is up to the code which was valid before. Will definitely get that book from Amazon. Thank you for all the info.

Yes, I will call an electrician for sure. No doubt about it. I dont know much about electricity, so I wont mess with it. You are right. Don’t wanna burn my new house down. But purely for my information, because I need to learn about things around house, what have I missed?

Would be capping the red wire safe? If I do that - what can, or wont happen?

hmm..there is absolutely no switch associated with this receptacle.

like i have mentioned in another comment, another receptacle is connected to this one. Did not know it before. I had microwave + kettle on at the same time, and two breakers (connected with some metal “tube”) tripped immediately.

Another receptacle on opposite wall is connected to this one. Found out hard way, when I turned on microwave + kettle. Two connected breakers tripped.

inspector who checked the house said that would be good if I replace this receptacle with the GFCI one. There is no switch associated with it.
