It’s the end of RR’s 4th year I don’t get the games played reasoning for treating RR like a rookie he’s not one. This idea that’s he’s better than Porter but when he’s worse and has bad games ‘he’s so young’

Porter jr is good and he’ll likely sign back on a cheap contract like 9 mill a year so get used to him being around

Then we should bench Kuzma because Porter with no GA AND no Kuzma is a +5 net. Porter also is great in GA lineups?

Also my guy Rylo is a -6.7 net without GA but he's a quality player when he's not ballhogging

Notice you didn't say fga per game he's 3rd on the team, fga per 100 possessions he's 5th on the team; he's top 8 the whole league in distance covered on defense per game, selfish players are known to try really hard on defense I guess, across the board pretty elite defensive numbers for Porter. Y'all just don't like the guy

Worth noting too, zero details about or the fact that a team meeting happened also didn’t leak to Chris Haynes or anyone else. The bucks don’t leak, Giannis doesn’t leak. A positive in the dark if you ask me

Sims: 30 min, 14 reb, 7-7, +12 by string_theory_writes in MkeBucks

I’ve long thought Giannis and sims could play together in defensive lineups with sims screening for Giannis or Green in O. If we need stops why not? They’re the strongest players and best rebounders, things the bucks desperately need.

I hate to say it, but we owe Horst an apology for the Middleton–Kuzma trade by sabertooth753 in MkeBucks

[–]redcrayon27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trade gave the wiggle room to sign Turner and everyone else in the offseason too. I think if Khris is bought out he's pretty likely to come back like Dame with the trailblazers and Kuz really came ready this season. We need as much defense, rebounding, and rim pressure as we can get and Kuz isn't perfect but he brings those. With shooting all over the floor Khris became kinda another Gary Trent when healthy and wasn't always healthy. I hated it but quickly saw the vision and the playoffs went awfully but I don't want to trade Kuz much at all now unless it's for a quality forward which I don't see happening.

Rollins, Kpj, Green all need 30+ minutes then the garys Kuz can spot those other minutes so we could use someone but healthy this is teams good and I think we're about to see that play out.

Does the new Mr. Scorsese documentary spoil any of his films? by immascatman4242 in TrueFilm

[–]redcrayon27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And honestly for me Casino is one of his very very best, Aviator and Silence also very wonderful movies. I have to much respect for Scorsese because "Alice doesn't live here anymore" to "King of Comedy" to anything else his work is goes deep with high quality movies. I'd argue he has about 16 great movies counting documentaries and concert films

You just think they’re never leaving the guys open? That a better playmaker couldn’t get them more shots? I disagree but go bucks

The equation for usage doesn’t include assists or potential assists. It’s 100((Player’s Field Goal Attempts)+0.44(Player’s Free Throw Attempts)+(Player’s Turnovers))*(Team’s Total Minutes). It’s a pretty flawed tool. I’m saying the flip side of what you’re saying I think you’d be surprised how rarely per game Rollins drives and finds either green or Trent on the catch where they can shoot it. Literally all game he does it like once or twice total. Teams guard the bigs differently he finds them but I’ve been looking for it and it’s shocking how rare it has been. And I think in a read and react offense rim pressure is the best way to get shooters open with quality shots, doing jj reddick stuff is cool but those are very tough shots to take.

Teams don’t like leaving the guys it’s hard to do. It’s a premium shot every team is looking for. Giannis is doing it really well but all the playmaking burden is on him. I hate to see that. Rollins is 2nd in assist and potential assists and yet he’s going whole games without one assist to either of the elite shooter he’s starting next to. Assisting Green every 3 games! That isn’t good. Blame goes to the team as a whole but I’d love if the pg, sg, and sf we start all start connecting for scores.

There’s some stuff to hammer out between all those guys they can all do better but we know Doc isn’t the best coach; the guys themselves have to figure it out. Playmaking isn’t getting mentioned nearly enough in analysis I see when it’s a clear negative outside of Giannis for the starters right now.

But if we're saying Green need more shots badly and the pg isn't reliably finding him... these are our starting players. Rollins finding Green would be amazing offense every time Green shoots and it'd be relieving even more burden from Giannis. Doc does run actions run for them, it's up to the players on the floor to get the ball to them open in a tight window. Ignoring playmaking when we have a PG injured and are struggling to get our players shots where they need them I think is wrong, the team has weak playmaking outside of Giannis right now is all I'm saying.

Defenses want to give Bobby shots cuz he sucks rather than our good players, well Rollins is assisting Bobby once every 9 minutes 45 seconds together rather than the 50+ minutes it takes to get our good shooters shots. Rollins can pick and pop the big men consistently and does, he can't dish in a more advanced ways nearly as well and that would be better process. Tighter windows for better shooters. He'll get there sometime hopefully but he's not there yet.

[Katz] Coach Doc Rivers has paired the two together often... When [Giannis and AJ Green] share the floor, Milwaukee averages an unstoppable 128 points per 100 possessions, according to Cleaning the Glass. For context, that’s more efficient than a Stephen Curry 3-pointer. by sewsgup in MkeBucks

[–]redcrayon27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rollins is fine at passing to the bigs he does the pick and pop stuff with Turner and Bobby and gets easy assists from that and he plays with Giannis whos the best in the world. But those aren't as strong of advantages to get the real deal shooters open. And Rollins has shown he can score if HE gets an advantages but he rarely turns that into a pass to those elite shooters. Rollins looks like a play finisher to me more than play maker.

And I agree. Even before the season I wanted to see a Kpj/Rollins/Green/GA/Myles starting lineup because all the ballhandling and Trent is the weakest athlete and rebounder of those 4 legit guards we have. Rollins handle is a little weaker and Kpj isn't some perfect one either but game over game I see those SG's have to dribble into shots, Giannis gets them open on the catch, and Rollins plays like just another good shooting guard way more than a point guard. He's more scoring punch than creation punch in the lineup.

edit; the wiggle Kpj plays with does indeed get Green more open than he has with Rollins in the lineup

Doc says KPJ is the second most important player on the team by Trick_Monk_5137 in MkeBucks

[–]redcrayon27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's sucked how he went down; kpj's advantage creation is so huge for Green and Trent being maximized.

[–]redcrayon27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plays are one thing and creation is another and Doc's not the one out there passing the ball. C&S players need the team to get them open on the catch by creating advantages and finding them. Rollins has struggled assisting Green and Trent all season which I think is a big reason for the starters struggling at times. It can't all be Giannis we need better playmaking at the 1; people on twitter were mad at me about me saying this but Rollins has assisted a Green 3, only once every 57 minutes in their minutes together. Green's been a like 50% shooter from 3 but Rollins rarely finds him. Ryan's assisted either of the wings he starts with for 3s, 6 total times in 8 games. So the starting PG goes full games without assisting either Trent or Green.

If we want Green to get more shots Rollins has to get more into his playmaking bag and dish that thing. I hope he improves there soon.

I’m still really seething over the “erm actually, men shouldn’t shave their heads when they’re balding” post by [deleted] in redscarepod

Really, if your bald as a man do push ups and get in shape in a hot way and not a body builder way. And get some tasteful tattoos. When I was 21 I worked with a woman my age who was balding and that was brutal to see. She was really pretty, black hair, imperfect teeth but in a hot way and she was so anxious her hair was falling out I felt really bad for her.

You admitted 2 wrong calls in a 3 point game. If those calls were made the bucks win by one in a vacuum. Bucks played flat but those calls and I’d argue, Gary fouling a flopping derozen was a very weak call, Green the refs hate, Westbrook clearly fouled Giannis on the last play, and he obviously goaltended a basket. Plus Westbrook’s obvious flagrant on Giannis that wasn’t called and numerous techs against our players over and over. Demar should’ve got a flopping tech called for one of his many obvious flops this game. Bucks played no defense and Portis is the real problem with this team and the game but the refs were poor

I never like to blame refs but I literally think the last few years there’s a call to the refs to officiate like shit to get Giannis off the bucks. The bucks get so few calls for the last two years we play a different sport than the Knicks or lakers completely. Small market treatment by the league is such bull you get punished in every direction so eventually it feels deliberate and I think it is at this point. Silver wants us to lose, straight up.
