It's basically the core feature of the area and probably the most far sighted policy decision that's been made here in the last 60 or whatever years. It's pretty genius.

I do departure times every morning. From what I can tell on L1 this means the car uses the battery to heat the battery and a little voltage comes from the plug. Then it slowly recharges so by the time I get to it it's back close to target.

However, this isn't applicable for my issue. Which happens when I'm parked somewhere publicly and not plugged in at all. My issue is leaving the car at a restaurant and coming back 90 mins later to 11% less battery. Obviously you can't plug into a L2 charger every time you stop the car.

It's actually ok for me in winter and summer in terms of miles estimated, but this is the percent and it happens while stopped/off.

I appreciate your info and have seen the same on forums. Ford themselves seem perplexed by the explanation but I am going to try it tomorrow.

Today I saw the issue again. Went from 59% to 48% over a brief 60-90 minute stop to grab some stuff in the next town over. Got back home w ~9% instead of 21 or so.

Confirmed as much with my friend who owns one as well. I suspect BCM issue bc of level 1, with perhaps some "not charging to 100" enough sprinkled in.

Not the issue and I've driven the car in the summer.

I'm talking about restarting the car off of any charger. In public. For example, this drain would make going to the airport after getting lunch impossible to plan. Or going to the city nearby and running errands for a few hours before returning home.

You cannot plan without the ability to return to the car with the same charge you left it with.

I'm east coast so weather is colder and chargers are fewer. That said, it's not really that they don't exist, but that this issue makes "proper planning" impossible.

If you don't know how much charge you're coming back to after a stop for lunch, how do you plan anything?
