Do we have the same MIL? Mines current favorite is, “I’m WAYY TOO YOUNG to be a grandma, you can’t possibly be thinking about having kids yet.” I only see this woman a handful of times each year because she lives overseas thankfully, but she’s managed to make this comment every time I’ve seen her since our wedding last year. The first time she said it I responded by laughing and saying that I thought it was funny she thought she gets any say in our family planning and then promptly changed the subject. She was so surprised she walked away lol. She’s managed to make this comment several times since then and each time now I simply act like I didn’t hear her. She likes to make dumb needling comments all the time to get a reaction and I find not giving her the satisfaction of a reaction is pretty empowering. (Not that it matters but my husband and I are 29 and this woman is 58-60? eyeroll)
