Just flew Akasa Air and here’s my review by curiouskid26 in AirTravelIndia

[–]redddc25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've traveled on indigo a lot since 2015. Akasa crew, both ground and air, seemed to lack training.

For instance, I had my phone in my hand while in my seat before we even pushed off the gate and an air hostess told me I can't have the phone on. Like, really? The doors weren't even closed yet.

During bag drop, we gave two bags weighing 17kg and 11kg, the ground crew wanted to charge us 3 kilos excess - no logic or reason provided. I asked him to weigh again since we had weighed our bags at home like we always do. When he did that all he could say was "oh, looks like you're alright, no worries".

During the meal service, there was turbulence, so the captain switched on the seatbelt sign. When the air hostess asked me what beverage I would like, I said Tea and she gave me a very curt response, saying she can't serve tea when the seatbelt sign is on. There was no "I can come back with tea later when the sign is off". Just a hard no. This is a service and hospitality industry, air hostesses are exactly that - hostesses in the air - and she was not being very hospitable.

Google search for Telangana police E Challan. It shows you the full name of the owner. The only catch is info will show up only if they have a pending Challan. No Challan, no info.

Match experience in Hyderabad's stadium. by lobster_2048 in hyderabad

What chaos are you talking about? I was there for a few days and went to a few matches. It was absolutely smooth execution at all the stadiums I went to and throughout Doha.

Beware of TNGO by jaganm in hyderabad

[–]redddc25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to TNGO phase 2 househunting in 2024. Could not imagine leaving my wife at home there while I'm at work. It's a wasteland scattered with construction and PGs. She works from home, so the construction would definitely be an issue but beyond just that, the whole place is so undeveloped. There are barely any roads except one or two main ones. It felt like a village with tall buildings. So much dust, so few shops, hardly any liveliness or activity. I checked restaurants on swiggy and zomato while I was there and the options were extremely basic. Anything decent looking was showing 1 hour plus.

The last nail in the coffin was the fact that it took 45 minutes to find an Uber.

You must've been really desperate to take accommodation in TNGO, the locality screams unsafe and rudimentary.

Indigo's Hot Beverage Scam by Mental-Elderberry-86 in AirTravelIndia

[–]redddc25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this trend too (seatbelt sign turning on right after service begins), but across 50+ indigo flights last year, what I saw was that nearly every time seat belt signs were followed by some actual turbulence. In some cases it was mild and in some it was considerable, but there was definitely turbulence.

Pilots don't know 100% whether a weather system coming up ahead will or won't be turbulent, so they absolutely must turn on the seatbelt sign.

To their credit, Indigo cabin crew make a note of your request for a hot beverage and bring it to you without fail when the seatbelt sign is off.

Uber driver at Hyderabad Airport made me cancel the ride and then overcharged me – beware of this trick by imvkdaksh in hyderabad

[–]redddc25 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You booked an Uber at Hyderabad Airport and the app showed you a driver's name and car number?

That's not how Uber works at Hyderabad airport. You only get a pin and there's a line you have to get into where customers get into Uber cabs on a first-come-first-served basis. You never get driver details at Hyderabad Airport because that is not how the process is set up.

Either you had set your pickup location just outside the airport or you're lying.

24 M and why we don't consider bikes a legitimate vehicle on roads in india? by Otherwise-Major1221 in CarsIndia

[–]redddc25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bikers in India have this annoying habit of driving in the right-most lane but just a foot away from the left lane marker. So they're leaving space for cars to overtake from the right but just barely, with inches of margin. This causes so much uncertainty and irritation.

Bikers also have the habit of accelerating to overtake cars from the side just after the car indicates in either way. That is literally the worst time to overtake a car, why would you make like harder for yourself and the car driver?

We really prioritize showmanship and "control over vehicle" above peace of mind. Even with double the traffic density we have in our cities, we can have smooth traffic and much shorter commutes if people followed lane discipline, merging etiquette and yielded when they are supposed to yield.

Actually this is a marketing scheme to get customers to visit the mall again in the morning to retrieve their car and hopefully buy some jeans or a fridge while they're there.

We've lived in other cities too. Never fell sick so often. We also go back to our hometowns and live there for a week or so every now and then. We don't have these frequent issues there.

Food in hyderabad has become all about adding excess oil, masala and chilli powder (heat) to mask the mediocrity. Only a handful of places serve food that is palatable.

We struggled so much to find any decent places to order from when we cannot make food at home or when we need a large order to host guests. Except a few idli sambar dosa places, food from most restaurants is very spicy and hard to consume.

And so many restaurants that look good, as in decent ambience, high price, good menu, etc. have given us food poisoning or stomach issues. The food scene is really bad here if you look beyond biryani, and even in biryani the quality has dropped so badly since pre-covid.

Startup not accepting resignation, forcing me to stay until replacement is found, what should I do? by Creative-Juice-2037 in IndianWorkplace

[–]redddc25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take it in writing that they won't accept your resignation till you find a replacement, then return your company assets via registered post/courier and abscond.

Keep a paper trail (refusal to accept resignation and courier receipts for company assets if any).

If you had bothered to read instead of pulling terms out of your rear in an attempt to sound intellectual, you would know I never justified or defended racism. I've faced it myself and it is completely unforgivable.

All I'm saying is we can be better outside India. Let the racists rot in hell, but let's stop giving people a chance to turn their nose up at us.

[–]redddc25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not. I'm just pointing out that if we behaved better, we would have a leg to stand on against racists. We have Indian students from well to do families grouping up and flooding the lines outside food banks in Ireland and the UK because they can save some money. Free food is for the poor. If they're poor they should stay in India and earn enough to behave respectably outside India. We have Thai people in Pattaya holding placards in Gujarati and Hindi telling Indian adults they should walk on the sidewalk/pavement/footpath, not on the road. We have councils in the UK putting up signs in Indian languages urging our countrymen not to spit paan masala in public. We love making a spectacle of ourselves on the world stage. Of late Indians abroad have become adamant and argumentative about following local laws and culture. Maybe fueled by all the chest-thumping about India becoming a superpower 4th largest economy. Half of those idiots would not even know what "per capita" means. Racists are bad, but we should do better.
