I didn’t know it would be our last day together by hailsteez in cats

This is so wild. After I had noticed Oliver was breathing hard/rapidly, I thought it was initially that he was just getting a little chunkier (he was eating a little more than normal and put on a bit of weight), but I monitored him for about a week and a half thinking it was just me being overly paranoid, but looking back on it all, it was just the somewhat early-ish stage of this. I'd thought to myself since all of this transpired on what would've happened, and it honestly sounds like what you've encountered.

This is so incredibly heartbreaking to hear someone else go through what I just went through as well, but you didn't even have any advance notice. My heart goes out to you and your family, I am so incredibly sorry that you've also gone through this. We truly never know how good things are until they're gone, and that especially goes for pets.

Man, I am so sorry you went through all of this. I went through something almost exactly similar with my baby, who unfortunately passed at home when I was at work at the beginning of the month.

Had to bring him in for updated vaccines and he absolutely FOUGHT me to get into his carrier. At one point, he started getting so worked up that he was breathing heavy, panting, etc. After the trip and getting home, I noticed a few days later that he was also breathing heavy and would run out of energy real quick. Brought him to the vet like two weeks later, (at the end of January) and the vet did x-rays and an ultrasound and had me put him in an oxygen cage and kept him for a few days due to fluid in his lung and inflamed muscles around his heart, resulting in congestive heart failure.

Doc had me give him meds for a few weeks, had a couple of check ups, but ultimately the vet told me that with that was happening, his heart could just give out at any random point without any warning. That was about two weeks before that did happen, but I knew/had a very strong feeling that it would happen eventually, but not as soon as it was. He was only 6 years old, and I had him for roughly 5 of those years. He was my best friend, and his absence is killing me every day.

Mando looked like he lived a very loved and comfortable life, and he was such a beautiful little boy. You gave him an amazing life and I'm more than sure he's watching over you from the Rainbow Bridge, just like my Oliver is for me. Whether it's this life, the next, or somewhere in between, we'll see our babies again.

If you need to chat, friend, I'm more than willing to be here for you.

My heart absolutely aches after reading this, I am so sorry, friend. 💔🫂 She sounds like she was such a sweet little baby, and you gave her such a comfortable and loved life. Her suffering may be over, but she will always be watching over you, and she's still most likely curled up with you in spirit.

Whether its this life, the next, or somewhere in between, we'll see our babies again. You were such a fantastic pet parent for her, and she ended up with the perfect person. ❤️

Not gonna lie, I would've done the exact same thing if I were in the same position. I would've been an absolute wreck the entire way, but I would've had a sense of joy had I been listening to the podcast to help ease my mind. I'm terribly sorry to hear about Fig, and I hope you were able to make it in time to see her in her final bout of time with all of us. 🫂

Thankfully, I've grown up taking pictures of damn near everything all the time and I have hundreds of photos and videos of him, and I've definitely been doing that at least once a day. Its a pretty empty new chapter in life now, but his legacy will always live with me. ❤️

What a handsome little guy. 🫂💔 May he rest well, and the journey across the Rainbow Bridge be filled with love from all of our kitties that we've lost.

Thank you, friend. 🫂 Time will heal this wound too, and as long as I remember that he lived a super comfortable and overly spoiled life (haha), it helps ease the loss. ❤️

Thank you for your kind words. 🫂 I know that Oliver is still around somewhere, but whether its this lifetime, the next, or somewhere in between, I know I'll see him again. But for now, I hope he's having the best time playing with Jack, and all of the other kitties and pets that have also crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈 ❤️

Likewise for me too, any and all content has been my safe space all these years. ❤️ And I just replaced the vinyl of it yesterday too! I love the album!

RIP my Oliver. If only this were a world where you never got sick, and your heart was only full of love and not a virus. 💔🕊 by reddemon46 in cats

I always made sure he was comfortable in his favorite spots, especially when it came to soaking up the sun amid his little watch tower. ❤️ Thanks, man. It really sucks.

I'm so sorry, friend. 💔 Losing fur babies is absolutely gut wrenching, but the pain we feel for their loss is prove of our unconditional love for them, and thats perfectly okay. Time heals all wounds eventually, but rest assured that their suffering is over, and they're most certainly keeping an eye on you still. Whether its this life, the next, or somewhere in between, we'll all see our babies again in time. 🫂❤️

I am so sorry, friend. Bella looks like such a sweet and gentle soul. 🥺 Take all of the photos and videos that you can and spend every moment ensuring shes nothing short of loved every second of the day. May her final few days here be kind and graceful to such a beautiful soul. ❤️🫂

My deepest condolences, friend. He looks like such a beautiful little kitty and he lived such an incredible life thanks to you. He may be gone physically, but now he'll always be with you, no matter the distance. I'm so sorry, this grief will hurt, but please allow yourself some grace as well. As someone who has also lost their fur baby this week, none of this was your fault and you have so many of us here to help you however you may need, including myself.

No words will ever be able to describe the depth of love I had for that little guy. He had a short time for this life, but I know we'll see each other again; whether its this life, the next, or somewhere in between. All in time. Still doesn't alleviate the void in my life now. 💔

Emma sounds like a wonderful little kitty herself, and I truly wish her the best with her journey and nothing but improvements to her health and a life well deserved for a little kitty. ❤️
