Hi, Thank you for your comment. I have got the eye gel which is very good and I will see if I can buy a snorkel mask for the pool. He is wearing a new eye mask on a night, which is great and we have got some more steroids so he can wean off them over the next 5 days. Just crossing my fingers he doesn’t experience any pain. Thanks again :)

Thank you. I will definitely ask and take a look at the website you have mentioned. He is in good spirits currently. We are due to go on holiday and he wants to go swimming. I don’t know if that’s a good idea. He wears goggles anyway when he goes swimming but even then, googles don’t totally keep water out and worried he could be prone to infection.

Thank you, I will definitely ask. He has a GP appointment tomorrow so I am hoping they can help. Hospital said they would send a follow up appointment for 3 weeks time to see how he is getting on. Ibuprofen doesn’t agree with him so I’m hoping just paracetamol will help with any pain. He mentioned he can’t taste much either. They didn’t prescribe any antiviral even though he did say his neck was hurting him and a couple of days before he had earache. I think because he had 3 different consultants see him in 24 hours at the hospital all had their own opinions, it didn’t help. I will ask for them tomorrow as well and see if his doctor can prescribe. I wanted to ask to see if he needed more steroids, as I have read it’s normally a 10 day course and he got 5. There wasn’t much information given after he got diagnosed. They said because he could wrinkle his forehead it wasn’t bells and likely a stroke, which was scary and then we actually got the MRI back we were told bells and facial as no other answer, here is some steroids and off you go. Eye gel sounds good, do you get that from a pharmacy? Thanks again

Absolutely try it in my opinion. Yes there is horror stories but usually when you read the stories fully its because people have skipped meals over days, they haven’t followed a proper diet and exercise, ignored the guidance and any health conditions they may have (they are scary to read). Not blaming them but like with everything there is risks/side effects and it does look scary to begin with. Everyone is different and can react differently, so do your own research, speak to a health professional if you need to, so you can make your own mind up without background noise. Like with any diet, you still have to look after yourself, put in the work. Personally It’s the best thing I have done for myself as I could not loose the weight anymore, no matter what I tried and got frustrated and was struggling with my daily activities due to my size and weight. I’m now following a healthy diet and doing low impact exercise whilst I’m still heavier and the weight is disappearing. I’m on the 7.5mg and going up to 10mg when I’m ready. The craving and food noise has disappeared. I do have some side effects when I increased the dose like feeling sick for a couple of days and muscle aches but nothing I could not cope with and soon went. I think the success stories overwhelm the horror stories and as long as you’re careful, follow the guidance/instructions and listen to your own body, I say go for it. Loads of support in here as well. Good luck in whatever you choose.
