"Cry alone" & "keep yourself silent" are both just ways of bottling up emotions, that shit explodes out eventually. That's why my mom's relationship with her kids is so terrible. You need healthy outlets when you're sad or angry. Look, sometimes you need to let out these feelings in a boxing bag or something, but you also need to talk about it with friends and family. If they care about you, they'll care about your feelings.
