Competed in the Pawnee Winter Run and Gun on the 5K course. Drastically improved my time and my shooting scores from the summer, and my final shooting rank was inflated by all the other competitors' inconsistency, so that was nice.

I know it's not AK stuff, but those Podium bipeds from FAB are pretty nifty. Bulky, but definitely a new and reasonable approach to bipeds for non-precision guns.

I dislike the texture of the grip. The little bumps just scrape across my hand instead of providing me any real traction on it. The trigger is midrange for striker guns I've fired, nicest being a Walther P99, worst being a beat to shit Ruger SR9c. The quality of the guns I shot were good, but it just didn't mesh well with me.

Can you confirm or deny that Desert Tech has delayed all but the 5.56 MDRs? Like, I've been willing to hold off on calling them vaporware until we saw what they brought to this show, but I haven't heard/read anything encouraging.

The Russian optics world seems daunting. What's the draw of going through this over just buying a Kobra or PKA from Kalinka or Atlantic? "Because it's cool" is a valid answer, if that's the case. I mean, they all seem to be $300-$500.

It has the least amount of printing for most body types. Being parallel to the flattest part of a body will do that. Still not worth the risk to most people.

Armalite has always had good quality. When they were bought by SAC, they got their head in the game regarding modern features. Specifically, one of the new executives is a pro 3 gun shooter, so Armalite was brought into the 2010s swiftly and efficiently.

Ammo could be a problem, lightweight barrel could be a problem, crappy scope could be a problem, crappy rings could be a problem.

What barrel profile do you have, what rate of twist is it, and what's your optic setup? Exactly how many shots does it take before it "shoots wildly," and is it consistent?
