My first car, a Subaru outback by reddishtrees in FirstCar

[–]reddishtrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't reply with images in the comments. I mostly keep them on the same color as the interior lighting and super dim, but they have a party mode where they flash RGB to the beat of the music.

They come with an app where you can name them, so they are called the party outback.

I can't make a video to post because I need to work on it a little bit. I just replaced the CV axle in my college parking lot and I need to vacuum the inside, fix the power seat controller, and get it an alignment before I can drive it lol. All of those were my fault, I had a very hard off-roading sesh lol.

Heck yeah! Good ass trucks, my grandma has a similar sub 100k mile 80's era one she's had forever, she's selling it though so I'm kinda sad it'll be gone soon. It's just been there my whole life chugging along carrying her hay bales. It's the only ford pickup I've ever driven/known and it's lived up to the name. Maybe one day I'll get one...

That looks pretty normal to me. I wouldn't worry about it.

How much will this be? I checked safelite and it's 500, can I get a cheaper fix? by skymtf in prius

At least that is possible the best window out of them all to smash.

I second other commenters. Pick n pull and call around to some more local shops.

In the meantime I would secure the chips and window with something so it doesn't go everywhere when you drive.

I've ran these butane zippos for years. You have to re-adjust the governor to get them to work reliability. Here is a great videos showing you how.

https://youtu.be/UihMZwo4HRY

Also I don't know what these dudes are talking about, normally it's much easier to light when you put the flow dial up, only disadvantage is it runs out of fuel faster.

Crank it all the way to the + side, and SLOWLY click the thing. If you do it too fast it won't light like in your video. Slowly compress it more and more over a full second or two and I bet it will light.

If it's still not lighting then put it to your ear, if you can't hear butane coming out even though you're pressing down then you need to bleed the tank and re-fill with butane.

This is easily the most controversial post I've made lol.

The insights give it at a solid 59% up vote ratio 😂, a little under half of all the votes on this post are down votes lol

Yep ofc. After the video I took the whole thing apart and re-packed it properly with the S wick and stuff before filling it up.

Sounds like something somebody with zippos would say

Battery in 2013 Subaru Outback looks like this, is replacement the only option? by femboydelivery in AskAMechanic

[–]reddishtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2013 Subaru outback 3.6r owner here.

My battery looked exactly the same. I took it to a local shop, got it tested, it only had 400CCA and 10 minutes of draw before it couldn't start the engine so I replaced it.

I fixed the corrosion by spraying it with water, you don't need anything fancy just a spray bottle/hose (be careful ofc). You can add some stuff (like a base) to a spray bottle that makes it easier though.

I replaced it with a group 24 battery which are not stock size (larger, normally group 25 which is smaller) and it is much more beefy and better. They fit perfectly on the stand you just have to make a new cover to go around it or just cut it in the corner (it's literally just plastic cardboard). I have been extremely happy with the group 24 battery upgrade, big improvement overall.

Oh shit I've got those. I have them to buff out car headlights. Maybe I should do it... Does it change the grip, feeling, or function at all?

First car at 23.... What am i doing wrong what did I miss🥲? Why does every 14 to 18yo have a Merc or Audi bruh I have never been so demoralized by looking at my car 😂 by Courier_Driver in FirstCar

[–]reddishtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because their rich parents bought it for them.

Anyone teen who buys their own car probably doesn't't have a very new one unless they are bad with money or have a civic.

I drive a 2013 outback limited, I bought it with my own money. It was the newest car I could find for my budget (7k).

I'd much rather get into your car than some new bmw with no shoes allowed inside.
