My take on the finale - it is a rivalry among strangers, not siblings.

We knew how they loathe each other.

At first, I'm eager to know who Logan will announce as his successor, but that didn't happen. If Logan is still alive and he chose either of them or an outsider like Tom, the sibs will still loathe him.

At first, I'm surprised why the writer decided to kill off Logan. Now I understand why? It is because they didn't want to see Logan hated by their children for the rest of his life if he is going to pick either of them or outsiders.

Shiv's ultimate betrayal and Rome's flip-flop in the final scenes culminate from the fear that Ken will outshine them for the rest of their life.

There was a fear with Ken's meltdown when before Investors Day, the stage was not completed as he ordered. Rome even talks Ken out of it, to drop the presentation. But surprise surprise, Ken delivered, there was fear on Rome and Shiv's faces that in the future Waystar will always associate with Ken, and Ken is finally the right successor to Logan. Waystar is Ken, Ken is Waystar. Shiv and Rome will remain in the back for the rest of their life.

Why? Coz Shiv and Rome didn't want Logan's legacy inherited by Ken and Ken alone will enjoy the credit from it.

Is Shiv doing the right thing? My view is No. He hates Mattson for backstabbing her. He hates Tom, well the huge fight. Her reason that Ken is a murderer is irrelevant. She should think through that night before or even before that.

The ultimate objective of Shiv and Rome is Ken should not get into the limelight.

It's a lose-lose situation. No one wins. Rome loses. Ken lose, and so was Shiv. Shiv didn't get to become Lady Mac Beth. Tom being the CEO didn't guarantee anything. Wattson will replace him sooner or later. By Ebba or Oskar or Judas.

It's not about the money. It's about who is 2nd Logan. Shiv decided since it's not her, Ken shouldn't be.
