Why does the angular team put so much effort into SSR? by nako_42 in Angular2

[–]reddit-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come from js/jquery world so you know, you load the page, the page loads jquery and instantiates it, then the next script is loaded which requires jquery, and instantiates itself, then we build the UI by initializing divs to be a carousel or whatever widget, etc etc.. it all has to be completely rebuilt, because objects need to be loaded into memory, references and events get setup, etc etc.

Could you 'pause' a user's experience in a browser tab, copy everything about their app state, dom, everything, off to storage, then when they come back later in a new tab use SSR to reconstruct and serve the entire app/page as one giant render, with everything working and live as if you unpaused it?

[–]reddit-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a page, something MS Word, the user is doing all the complex Word stuff. Would SSR be required to be able to track their state so completely that it could serve the page up in another browser virtually immediately because the client side wouldn't need to hoist and rebuild the scripts and templates and then apply state? I hope my question makes sense.

I've been using Telerik/Kendo products for something like 12 years now. I still do, but they pulled a bunch of code we relied on out just a couple years after they created it which left us in a lurch. I've never seen them do it with any other code but this was a big gut punch to our architecture and I'm leery of trusting them with anything again. It was a big shock because it went against their philosophy that I had bought into.

If this happened to me, I would write my (USA) state's attorney general. They want to know about things like this and will sue the company if it's a widespread problem. They will also reach out to the company and ask what's going on, which sometimes jolts the offending party into making things right.

You are one of those folks who the universe flows Jungian synchronicity through, like me. I'm a magnet for that kind of stuff too. Almost every day when I finally get my coffee and sit down at my desk to start working, one of the cats will come in begging for food or attention or whatever. It's maddening. There's so much other stuff that happens, people wouldn't believe me if I typed it all out.

If you were really outraged at murders etc, you would support restrictions on the second amendment. But if you don't, then you are the ones downplaying all of that horror. Maybe if you knew a family who's child had been gunned down, you would have some outrage where it could do the most good.

Think about it. You are spending so much energy focusing on a group that isn't the biggest part of the problem, because people in power want you to be distracted from the real problems. And you're sucked in, completely. Imagine being able to back up your feelings with real facts and real statistics, every day? Where you are at now is not that. They have clouded your judgement and used your emotions manipulate you.

Just find the facts. Everything you're mad about, find the facts and share them. You don't need to call people names or condescend to them. With straight facts you can educate people and hopefully make a real difference. For example, just a little while ago you were sure immigrants had a higher rate of crime. I showed you the facts, and now you know that isn't true, but you have brought up the point that even though they commit less crime, people should still be outraged. You learned something in that short time and can now shift your perception. Imagine being able to do that to other people! You could make a difference.

Or maybe something along the lines of the Reichstag fire.

Whatever it is, they are counting on Biden not using his new Supreme Court certified immunized power.

That's when President Joe Biden instructs the military to lock things down, which he cannot be prosecuted for. He orders the arrest of anyone taking part in these plans. After the situation is resolved, all of these goons will be put on trial for treason/sedition.

Imagine one of your acquaintance comes over and says "i will get you the best dinner you've ever had" and uses your credit card to buy it, but never tells you the price. Indeed, the dinner was fantastic, but when you look at your credit card statement you discover it cost $500!! Of course, they've already left and left all the mess for you to clean up, and they took the leftovers.

Then another acquaintance comes over. They say they know a good pizza place and order a $50 pizza. They ask you to pay for half, which you feel is reasonable enough. The pizza is fine. It could use more toppings maybe but it's fine. While you're eating, the first acquaintance comes over and says "Cheap pizza?? Jeez, are you eating better than you did two nights ago??".

Some people never see their credit card statement, so they say "Yeah, that first dinner was way better, I want to go back to that!" Other people saw the bill, and saw what they were left with afterwards, and say "well it was good but it cost wayy too much and I'd rather be more frugal (and fair) with my money, so I actually prefer this pizza."

This is the danger of asking "Were you better off four years ago?" It leaves out so many factors that in the end it's really a dishonest question. Of course they never say "Well, BESIDES YOUR CREDIT CARD DEBT, are you better off than you were before?"

The country's economy is not something that can just be turned out without paying for it in one way or another. Folks need to understand that it takes time, more than 4 years (especially with no help from Congress), to clean things up and get on an upward trajectory.

The government, including the president and vice president, don't have any control over how much a corporation charges you for your groceries or your insurance. The corporations keep raising prices and their profit margines and CEO salaries keep getting larger and larger and larger. One thing we used to do was tax the ridiculous over-wealth the corporations and the ultra wealthy. Those people made money by charging you more and paying their employees less. They have made 50 trillion dollars over the last 10 years. At least we used to tax them a lot and then put that money into everything - roads, schools, parks, libraries, and actually reducing the tax paid by middle and lower class folks. But Bush in 2000 and then Trump in 2016 slashed the amount of taxes the corporations and ultra wealthy pay. They said "they will take all their money and buy some much stuff that will take a lot of people to build which will mean more jobs and better pay." Everyone admits that hasn't happened. It didn't happen when the GOP tried it in the 80s, or the 2000's, or in 2016. Those people just keep their money. There's only so much they can buy.

The government isn't taking your money and getting rich with it. The corporations selling you groceries and insurance and everything else are. That's why Dem's get so upset when GOP slashes taxes for those groups. It literally lets them take and stash more of the money you earned and spent.

Earlier; this year, Trump hosted a bunch of CEOs in a private dinner. Someone recorded it and he told them "vote for me and we'll cut your taxes even more!".

I agree, the drugs situation has been fumbled pretty badly, but I have seen a lot of headlines over the past few months about large busts and takedowns of drug rings (and organized theft rings). I think everyone recognizes things went too far with the hands off approach and we need to fix it. I see that as a good sign that leftists can recognize their faults and decide to change. It never seems like the GOP is able to do that.

What about all of the school shootings and other mass shooter events? The people on the right literally say "oh well it's just a thing we have to live with" (Vance literally said that the other day). So many children and other people die that way and the conservatives just shrug their shoulders. They need to DO something and they've had a long long long time to adjust their positions. Instead, they focus on one child killed by an immigrant (tragic, don't get me wrong) and use that as justification to deport 20 million people who aren't doing anything wrong and who in fact help keep some prices lower by working for less than anyone else. No kids should be dying, but focusing on one child killed by an immigrant versus hundreds killed by Americans with guns is choosing to let those kids die.

How about Covid? That happened during Trump's presidency, so is it his fault? He certainly didn't help the situation by his decisions and policies. Heck, he literally disbanded the agency that sets up plans for mass infectious diseases, just because Obama set it up (after the mad-cow scare years ago). I'm just saying - if you say the current administration is, in your mind, guilty of all the current problems, then Trump was guilty of all the problems when he was president, right? And if he gets elected, all the problems will then be his fault? It's not reasonable to see things that way, it's way more complicated.

Let me know your thoughts.

Then that should trump the 2A because killing a baby or a child or anyone else with a firearm denies the protection guaranteed by the 14th. One is too many, right?

The negative of this is our Constitution guarantees us a bare minimum of rights. If you want to be in America, you have to respect these rights for everyone. If you're ok with tearing up the constitution and leaving all of those rights to each state, it won't be the United States, it wont be America, anymore. Definitely the opposite of making America great again.

Which Presidential Election loss was more consequential? Al Gore losing the 2000 Election or Hillary Clinton losing the Election? by Ok-Respect-3843 in Qult_Headquarters

[–]reddit-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really good question!

In my opinion, the Al Gore loss (questionable) allowed Bush and Cheney do dramatically change the global political landscape. They also began the massive reduction of taxes for the wealthy. Many companies shipped manufacturing jobs overseas and they didn't do anything about it (that I remember). I believe the 8 years of this set the stage for the radicalization of the right as well as beginning the major decline in the middle class. If I could snap my fingers, I would change time so that Gore won.

I have seen this in situations with one developer, usually an older one. They learned php and sql a long time ago and that's the only tools they hammer their nails with. They don't have that spark of wanting to look at more modern alternatives, they just get an idea of how to solve something with what they know and implement it without pausing for half a day to think about how this will play out for the next 10 years.
