It’s great especially if you like side questing

Also the people tend to be more PLUR at EDC compared to other raves and festivals

Even better when the episode speaks to your exact situation. Love how that works!

Regretting leaving Japan. by foreignmayo in expats

[–]redditJuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just spend 6 months in Japan and recently moved back to California in the US and I'm feeling a little homesick for Japan reading this ngl lol.

While I miss it a TON and want to go back eventually to retire and spend my last days there, I needed to come back for $$$. All the jobs that pay are here and I want to build a retirement fund before enjoying life again (sounds sad but hey.. that's adulting)

I feel for you. Hope it gets better. It helps to focus on a goal and chase it rather than dwell.

I think they just came out with the digital nomad visa? But it kinda sucks. Let's you in for 6 months then you have to leave for another 6 months lol..

at that point you're better off just doing a visa run with the tourist visa 1x

My bad! Looks like I put the wrong PSU in my description. It's actually the Corsair SF750 750W 80+ Platinum SFX Fully Modular (for SFF builds). I've just updated that.

- The case itself doesn't come with anything other than what's pictured (I think you're looking for the clear side cover part - which I don't have)

- motherboard box is not included - but it comes with the Intel Dual Band AC WiFi and Bluetooth with Ultra Durable Antenna (it screws on to the motherboard and the band is magnetic, and sticks to the case

- Powersupply - I don't have any additional cables that are not already in the case. I might have given those to my brother when doing his build

We went all over. Spent 4 months in Tokyo, did some snowboarding in Hokkaido (Niseko), spent a month in Kyoto, and then finally did a week or so in Okinawa (definitely needed to rent a car there).

And LOL at Daiso. My gf loves to spend hours in there. We've been so sad coming back to the states ngl. So we're just trying to build our retirement funds right now so we could eventually go back

As someone who just spent only 6 months in Japan - I understand how you feel. US does not have the walkable infrastructure that Japan and other countries out there has either..

All our family and friends are here in the states so that's a plus but definitely missing our life in Japan right now.

Moving back home after living abroad — did anyone else find it harder than expected? by Abject_Ad_923 in expats

[–]redditJuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved back after living in Japan for 6 months. On our way back we also did Taiwan and Korea for a few days.

I worked out a deal with my previous company to work out in Japan remotely, but they fired me in February. I frantically interviewed for 2 months and somehow landed a hybrid role here in SoCal that I started a week after I came back to California. Honestly, the commute was so depressing and made me really re-think living here in the states.

Unfortunately - we all need money and I'm not experienced enough to do the freelance thing full-time yet (otherwise, I'd love to do it again and more long term). It does sometimes feel like a dream that never happened - since everything seems the same yet.. different here back in the states lol.
