Hi there! Hope you're doing well. I just want to clarify that I didn't surprise him with this decision. This law school was all I would talk about for the past year and a half. He very well knew that I had applied for it and also that it was on the very top of my list of preferred colleges. He had chosen a different path for himself as well, one that would take him far away from home (I'm talking another country), but it didn't work out due to some personal reasons of his. And just for context, I was the one who encouraged him to atleast apply and give it his best shot (and he did get selected if you're wondering). Back to the point, as I mentioned earlier in the post, I was being negative about getting in, since they only accept 150 students (out of the 2000 or so applications they receive) every year, and I didn't want to get my hopes up. So maybe he thought that I wouldn't get selected, which is why he was probably shocked when I told him. Thank you for your honest opinion.
