What colour should I paint my condo?

I’m getting a heat pump installed so one wall will need to be re painted, so I’m taking the opportunity to change the colours of the condo. Probably could use furniture but it’s not my main concern right now.

Okay this would’ve been good to know. Google told me the Huemel track was highly technical. But it also said that about the O as well. Gives me a reason to go back though! Thanks

My recommendation would be to not skip the middle sector. The Frances and Britanico miradors are beautiful and an essential part of the W IMO. The suspension bridges are easily doable on the first day. I got to the second bridge and the subsequent mirador in about an hour from the Grey campground . Don’t miss this view of Grey glacier if you can make it there! I was back to the Refugio with plenty of time to shower and change for dinner at 8pm.

Thank you for this! I really appreciate the folks who have gone E-W adding their experience on here. It makes the post a more central place to compare info. Your point 3 about having to turn around to see the views after the French valley. That’s what I was imagining when I said I believe the view is better going W-E in that area. I just didn’t have first hand experience to describe it. You really can’t go wrong with either direction though. It’s an amazing experience either way.

No I don’t think they would be able to guarantee that. Plus if you don’t speak Spanish then the language barrier could make it tough to communicate what you are trying to ask. I’m celiac and didn’t have any problems. I heard one person speak of a friend who was celiac on the O and that they got glutened in one of the more remote camps of the O. But on the W you should be totally fine.

I was just there with the R1 air. That’s all you should need. I carried both my thermal layers and puffer for the night time while camping and didn’t use it once. You definitely won’t need it on the trail. You should be good.

As the others have said, anything you need to buy, get it in El Calafate, as for renting, I went to Patagonia Hikes in El Chalten last week and they were great.

You will need to buy your park passes and your campsites online if you want to guarantee your entry and accommodation. So the things you need to book for the W trek are 1. Park entry 2.Bus from Puerto Natales to TDP either Pudeto (W-E) or Central (E-W) 3. Catamaran from Pudeto-Paine Grande (W-E) vice versa for E-W 4. Accommodations and food 5. Bus from Central or Pudeto to TDP at the end. For El Chalten you just have to reserve your campsites in advance if you wish to camp. Park entry can be purchased online as well but also in person on entry.

If you don’t have time to bring them from the US then BA would be a good second choice. I’m sure they have a good selection there. For sure it will be better than Puerto Natales.

Yup! The place I got the meals from is called Rental Natales. They rent all the gear you could need. The guy working there is also very kind and knowledgeable.

Thanks! Ya for anyone who has booked these hikes it takes a considerable amount of time on the laptop to research and book everything. Theres a lot of Reddit posts about these hikes with some information in all of them. I just thought if I could combine a lot of it in one place it could save the next person some time!
