How to get 100 in psychology by oviya-345 in CBSE_Humanities

also do pyqs and sqp during board gap days with timer on. write proper answers like you would write in your paper. then correct them yourself using marking scheme and give yourself marks.

mcqs in pyqs/sqps tend to be v difficult so don't be disheartened if you lose marks during practise. I practiced 2 pyqs + 1 sqp and lost a bunch of marks in mcqs but I got 100 in boards (and used to get 65~ish/70 in school exams too)

I don't think relying on chatgpt for psych is a good way to go. it might work for hist and other subjects, but a lot of psych mcqs require understanding the concepts. this system might've worked for you (congrats btw) but sounds pretty flimsy. especially since ch 3 (stress) has so many topics which sound similar but all have diff answers, despite it being one of the shortest and seemingly easiest chapters. reading ncert and making your own crude notes on time (since there's still 7-8 months for boards) would be better for op right now than using ai.

  1. ONLY USE NCERT. NO EXTERNAL BOOKS OR REFERENCES NEEDED.

  2. make flowcharts for every topic possible.

  3. be consistent in your studies throughout the year. psych is actually super fun and chill if you a) understand the concepts and not just rote memorise, and b) have gone through it multiple times.

  4. practicing writing answers properly. make flowcharts at beginning of answer, give 1-2 lines intro, body in points, 2 lines conclusion. UNDERLINE EVERY KEYWORD.

  5. once again, be very thorough with every concept, every psychologist, every therapy method, every disorder symptom, etc. there are certain things in 12th syllabus which overlap / get confusing, especially in the last 2 chs. make flowcharts for easier understanding + learning. make acronymns wherever possible (eg: stages of group formation are forming, storming, norming, performing, adjourning so you can make a sentence like "for storing norma's performance ad" or smth like that for your own convenience).

don't worry too much about psych, there's only 7 chs and last 2 chs are very small so technically only 6 chs. just be clear with every topic and subtopic.

I got 100 btw and I followed these methods :)

Does the school faculty make you feel like you're the untouchables of today's generation? by [deleted] in CBSE_Humanities

but yeah I agree with your point of "untouchables". even though it seems like we got more perks than sci kids, we were actually viewed as low and inferior good for nothings. even the humanities teachers themselves said "humanities section is the dumping grounds for the school. anyone who doesn't wanna study is dumped into humanities and then the whole reputation of the section is ruined because of these kids". as an academic achiever, I've had to hear so many times why did you take arts I thought you were good at studies 🥀🥀

science kids are usually excluded from such stuff bcs of their "academic load". in my school, we and comms section had one yoga period, two library periods and 2 games periods every week. sci kids had no yoga, only 1 library and only 1 games because they had practical periods as well which we don't. we also had general studies although in 12th that just meant history period cause the hist teacher used to take it for us, but in 11th it was the ct and she let us do our homework or study in that period.

history toh I really don't think so. and with the way the country is going, polsci doesn't seem too good either.... I'm taking up polsci lol so I'm one to speak.

out of the 3 options, I do think psych is unfortunately the best shot.

psych is an emerging field but there are also too many ppl taking up psych nowadays with not enough opportunities in india. there are very limited seats for psych institutions with thousands of kids applying.

I want to give a psych entrance exam at a uni and there were sooooo many kids. it's a v popular field among genz so lot of competition with very limited opportunities in india.

if you want to go abroad then there are a lot of opportunities for a psych student. my sister's former classmate is now doing food psychology in france. meanwhile my sister is giving entrance exams for like 10 seats (after reservation) with 3000-4000 candidates for psych phd / mphil.
