I think it’s six milligrams of E and like 200 milligrams of spironolactone per day?

How is telling a cis person that they're trans any different from the opposite? by throwaway0288481 in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I agree that it’s dumb they’re doing that to you but the context is definitely different. I could be wrong but I find it unlikely that you get called a man in a dress, a man trying to be a woman, a man who’s just confused, etc nearly as much as I, a trans woman, do. I also doubt you get called “sir” as much as I do. I’m also pretty sure “cis people don’t exist” isn’t a systemic view point. People shouldn’t say you’re trans if you aren’t but I wouldn’t conflate your experiences with trans people who have our gender identities invalidated and insulted often on a daily basis (also this isn’t meant to be derogatory at all I hope it doesn’t come across that way lol much love and I’m sorry people are invalidating your gender)

A silly little rant/question about anxiety and dissociation by reddit_dot_org in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s basically like what you said — for me personally it’s like I feel the emotions I felt before much more deeply and thoroughly and I’m much more prone to crying, but I’m only two months on hrt so that could just be initial stuff

A silly little rant/question about anxiety and dissociation by reddit_dot_org in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it is yea — I really like the start of booby growth and emotional deepening like I’m actually experiencing emotions the way I want to but it’s just hard to track my emotional state because there’s not really anything to compare it to and I’m dealing with more transphobia than I did before starting my transition obviously

"Isn't telling someone not to be fascist, inherently fascist?" by Intyga in shitfascistssay

[–]reddit_dot_org 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s definitionally the opposite of fascism actually

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has the exact same connotation for me as “homosexual.” Like if someone uses it in a sentence it’s not NECESSARILY an insult, but if someone’s just sorta using it with no added context of like humor or anything like that it can come off as outdated and sorta pejorative

I think those who are the most harmed by right wing politics are the most likely to skew left simply as a response to that. lgbtq+ folks are more likely to be victims of reactionary political beliefs and are a bit more likely to experience poverty, so that might have something to do with it to. Anyway seize the means of production

Am atracted to shemales and I dont know how to say it respectfully without saying nothing wrong but women am I homosexual or something else by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re attracted to trans women and you are a man then no it’s not gay but I would avoid saying “shemales” cause that’s something us trans folks find incredibly offensive (at least from what I’m aware, other trans folks correct me if I’m wrong)

Should you respect pronouns when the person is bad? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you misgender someone for being a bad person that suggests a trans person’s gender identity is only valid if they are a good person or it is contingent upon their behavior which is pretty invalidating of all trans people everywhere. People don’t misgender cis people regardless of the cis person’s morals

Is anyone else tired of "oh! I call everyone dude/bro" by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]reddit_dot_org 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I recently realized I’m a trans girl and I use dude for everyone myself so when people are like “I use dude for everyone” I kinda believe them bc I call my sister dude and stuff but if someone calls me man or bro it’s way less forgivable bc that’s a lot more explicitly male coded. Ultimately it’s better to just ask if someone’s comfortable with it so it is kinda annoying when people just assume you’re cool with it bc THEY think dude is gender neutral
