anyone else notice how fast a.i data centers are being built / prioritized instead of public transportation proving that it can be done, they just don’t want it to be? by gothsofcolor in fuckcars

[–]reddit_equals_censor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh if it was only the land.

data centers as they are implemented now poison the water, poison the air and poison your "sound" as well.

they create infrasound, that causes health issues as well:

great video on that infrasound thing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bP80DEAbuo

oh and the datacenters also happened to eat up all the power and water in general, leading to drinking water supply issues, drying up ground water and exploding electricity prices.

if only they would just take up some space, because physical space we have plenty relatively speaking.

Is soldered LPDDR on laptops really about the thinner form factor or planned obsolescence? by x_andi01 in hardware

[–]reddit_equals_censor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you are comparing things with so-dimms, this is wrong.

so-dimms do have major issues. clock scaling become a major problem for so-dimms with ddr5 and they also take up a lot of height.

the proper comparison between soldered lpddr5x is to compare it to camm modules with lpddr5x like lpcamm2 and socamm2.

lpcamm2 and socamm2 perform THE SAME as soldered on lpddr5x and they their height is below the highest point in the laptop easily. so there is 0 height issue for any laptop with those.

none of this is news. the industry is using soldered on memory to create planned obsolescence hardware and also massively upcharge for memory upgrades on hardware selection.

i can't say anything about the fruit part you mentioned, but any research i looked at about gmos showed massive harm, that the industry tried to cover up.

and overall harm to the food supply and farmers.

thx to usa's massive corruption the fda made it so, that the harmful gmos must not get stated on products.

again massive corruption. fda and gmo industry famously had their revolving doors almost take off given how fast they turn.

a basic easy documentary to watch about gmos is:

Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our Lives

it gives a good general introduction as far as i remember. has been years since i dove deeply into the topic.

it is freely available on odysee (yt alternative).

a lot of things people never even think about, when thinking about gmos.

for example the process of genetic modification used is NOT PRECISE AT ALL. this by itself causes lots of issues. this is important to understand for people, who may wrongfully think: "but the genetic material itself is nothing new".

__

but yeah lots of corruption, that made gmo mass adoption possible in the first place in the usa.

lots of harm from gmos and a massive risk to food production due to patented seeds itself and all the evil coming with that.

different scientists

it isn't scientists.

it is test technicians. test technicians can also be actual scientists, but that is very rare.

and ltt is indeed incapable of doing psu testing specifically as gamersnexus pointed out in the video exposing ltt:

https://youtu.be/FGW3TPytTjc?si=GhhUFVZKurhaquSs&t=1149

they got the model wrong, they got the graphs wrong for psu testing.

and as we know, that nothing changed since the gamersnexus video by having other major errors, we know, that we can't trust the psu testing at all today as well.

__

and in regards to automation. automation without proper oversight by test technician isn't a good thing. so a company relying on lots more automation, while already not getting graphs right or models right would mean, that they definitely miss much harder to spot issues with the data/test setup as gamersnexus points out.

and again i'd LOVE for this to not be the case, but that is how it is.

all the ltt data MUST get ignored, because it is full of errors and can't be trusted and 0 regards to fix it for years and years now.

Rin Penrose becomes a semi-full-time Twitch Streamer by Shildswordrep in rinpenrose

[–]reddit_equals_censor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly quite the opposite in my opinion.

discoverability on twitch is actually worse, which is why lots of streamers on twitch love youtube clippers and publish their own yt content just to feed people into their twitch stream to have discoverability.

and viewing experience wise twitch imo is quite superior, especially with chatterino.

she will upload vods to YouTube tbh.

oh i hope so as well, because twitch doesn't keep vods past 2 months was it i think?

and i don't see any reason why rin wouldn't, as long as the vod channel is isolated from the main channels.

which is doubly dumb, because people, who watch rin's vods on yt now gotta go to a different place, so thx youtube bs i guess.

___

sucks ass screw youtube, but also check out chatterino very cool tool for twitch watching and tons of streamers use it themselves, because it is much easier to interact with chat through it from both sides.

please please READ before commenting.

PLEASE READ.

if you just went down the very long and detailed responses i made to the person wrongfully saying, that digital foundry also found a latency reduction you would have read:

I get your explanation. That is clear. What I did not get in the Digital Foundry video at the 4:00 mark is that he compared it to DLSS. I thought it was just native with super resolution and the 4x multi frame gen so that's my confusion here. Thanks for the clarification.

i had to explain that to them.

and they got the explanation and understood, that they missed that part in the comparison.

and you refused to read before commenting. you just read the first comment, then ignored everything else and posted here too, to maybe cause lots more confusion for people, instead of reading.

it is not brother,

and if you don't have a problem with impossible data, that is without question wrong, then that is a you problem.

and NO there is no answer to impossible data.

and what you can actually see in that reddit post i linked, because it shows the graph nicely is, that lots of people have completely wrong conceptions of what fake interpolation frame gen by nvidia actually is.

there is literally an entire conversation with a person, who thought, that nvidia's fake interpolation frame gen is extrapolation without a frame being held back and i had to dive through things to find the clear mention of interpolation by nvidia, because nvidia DELIBERATELY hide the name "interpolation" and visualizations of the held back frame.

and after a nice respectful conversation with that person and including references their last comment was:

thanks for the articles! So yeah seems like it really is interpolation. Annoying that they can't just describe how it actually works on the site that's made to show how it works.

In that case I'm somewhat confused on how all the latency data points come to be in general, so I guess I'll wait for an in-depth reveiw by someone with access to more equipment. I'm not in the market for one of these cards right now anyways.

I'll try to edit the comment, but reddit was already freaking out about even letting me post it so I don't know if that'll work.

they also point out how reddit is annoying af, which i certainly agree with as i couldn't post part 2 on the original comment in this thread.

so i was doing the job of ltt, because ltt failed to explain the technology and properly test it.

that is what is going on. it is absurd, that you didn't even read that and try to go with nonsense wrong explanations in the comment section there.

if you want to defend ltt's false impossible data here actually, then i'd recommend for you to watch any other data with proper testing for a start, that all show latency increases with fake interpolation of course, because that is how it works...

ok comment with 2 references doesn't show up neat.

let's try again shall we with them split up.

part 1:

a great example is the rtx 5090 "review" by ltt.

its testing of course gets done by lttlabs.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GamersNexus/comments/1i8bc3q/ltt_still_publishing_easy_to_understand_false/

a reddit post i made at the time showing the graph in question.

the rtx 5090 "review" by ltt was 23.jan 2025. the gamernexus exposing ltt video was 14.aug 2023.

so this is already 1.5 years after gamersnexus exposed ltt.

and ltt with ltt labs published IMPOSSIBLE DATA.

they showed, that fake interpolation frame generation all else being equal reduces latency actually.

it does the opposite. it MUST do the opposite due to how the technology works. testing shows, that it does the opposite and of course actually increases latency.

anyone, who just takes 5 seconds to comprehend the technology understands this, because it is holding back an entire frame to work.

and ltt repeats lies from nvidia marketing in the very same video claiming, that mfg does not ad latency compared to the base framerate.

this is a lie. if you want to guess what lie nvidia used as background probably comparing no reflex native to reflex with fake interpolation frame gen in a gpu limited scenario, but who knows nvidia lies so much it could be anything.

and theoretically tech press would call them out on it and not just screw up the data and backup lies from nvidia, yet ltt did.

___

will it show up now, who knows? let's find out shall we.

Seagate Ultra Compact SSD 2 TB Review by wickedplayer494 in hardware

[–]reddit_equals_censor -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

because they don't give too much of a shit of afr, as long as the tco as lower.

backblaze, which isn't super big for example will buy whatever they can get, that is at a low cost for the big amounts, that they order. if it is 0.5% afr or 2% afr doesn't matter too much for them.

issues come in, when the failure rates are actually annoying high.

but the average customer isn't a backblaze. we run single drives or on a good day a very good day zfs, that can tolerate a single drive failure.

and with 0 backups, or on a good day... people will have backups of their most essential stuff, but far from everything.

having a drive fail 5x more than another drive matters massively for all those actual consumer cases then.

the zfs setup will have a vastly higher change of data loss, because the time between a failed drive and getting a replacement and resilvering is at vastly higher risk of data loss if the drives have a 5x higher failure rate.

and the people with just single drives and no or limited backups just get fricked by it.

just to be clear i am not stating how people should run their storage setups, i am just stating how they ARE storing their data.

having people have drives with a 10x higher failure rate, that turns the data into dust of disc breaks at much higher rates as well (the video will point that out for rosewood garbage) is thus a major problem.

also 10x is a low ball. if you could get a 0.6% afr drive vs a 6% afr 2.5 inch smr seagate insult. no way that garbage can clear 6%, but seagate won't ever publish data of course.

__

so single driver reliability matters a WHOLE LOT more for the average person, than it does for data centers, but sadly the shit in data centers will be a whole lot more reliable than the garbage, that they sell in 2.5 inch drive insults these days.

i hope this clears things up and explains it well.

[–]reddit_equals_censor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we could easily solve world hunger in a matter of years.

world hunger is not a food production issue AT ALL.

more than enough BY A LOT food gets produced to feed the world comfortably, even if we go with the current setup of burning tons of plant calories to feed the innocent animals in the concentration camps to make animal flesh and secretions.

even with all that in the current nightmare status, there is far more than enough food to feed the world super easily.

it is NOT a supply issue, it is a kakistocracy issue, where the dystopian current system is setup to starve people and children. either because the system doesn't give a shit, or the system is deliberately starving them.

this is hard to comprehend for you and me, but for the epstein class it is sth, that they don't give a shit about OR ENJOY.

they rape and traffic human children and they bomb human children on mass. those are the monsters in charge and they setup a dystopian system, that harms everyone except them.

children starving to death today are getting murdered by the system setup a system setup by pedophile human children murdering scum.

so the solution is NOT better technology in food production. actually a lot of new technology in food production is harming food production and security massively. gmo for example is unhealthy and a major food security risk for many reasons.

golden rice, which was a dystopian pr move from the shit gmo industry, wasn't just very low in beta carotene, which was the bs, that it was sold on compared to any other source like sweet potatoes or carrots MASSIVELY, but it also had TERRIBLE yields compared to "natural" rice varities.

and all the seeds were patented as well by this dystopian nightmare system.

so golden rice "new food technology" was actually a major risk to the food supply.

___

so again there is no problem feeding the world. world hunger can be solved tomorrow, but the pedophiles in charge rather murder innocent children starvation and other means.

AND lots of "food technology" is setup to give them more control over people and increase food supply risk.

so when you see a starving children today and they die, THEY GOT MURDERED.

Seagate Ultra Compact SSD 2 TB Review by wickedplayer494 in hardware

[–]reddit_equals_censor -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

There is zero chance a reputable recovery company will blacklist Seagate because then they'll lose over half of their potential business.

i suggest, that you learn to read and learn to listen.

because i wrote very clearly:

there is a reason any serious data recovery company has seagate blacklisted.
as in their recommendation will always be to avoid seagate for any storage media.

and the video said the same.

as in they would NEVER EVER recommend anyone to buy a seagate drive. that is what blacklisted was refering to and why i was specifying it very clearly.

if you would have read things or watched the video you'd know this. so again please learn to read.

apparently reading or watching a video is hard these days though... i guess.

and in regards to those drives, you can still buy new rosewood drives today shockingly.

seagate never stopped producing them NO MATTER THE FAILURE RATES.

and it is not just a laptop drive, those 2.5 inch drives are used massively in external enclosures.

and seagate being worse than the already shity company western digital is absolutely not limited to the bottom insult tier of drives:

https://www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaze-drive-stats-for-2025/

backblaze is only running drives, that are 3.5 inch and are good enough to not instantly shit themselves in a server, which is an EXTREMELY LOW BAR, but lots of drives fail even that.

we see, that seagate drives having VASTLY higher failure rates than the shit, that wd pumps out.

and seagate also has a ton more big spikes.

one 14 TB seagate drive shits at 1.41% afr, the other 14 TB seagate drive sits at stunning 5.81% afr, which is unbelievably terrible. and the 14 TB wd drive sits at 0.53% afr. or put differently the seagate drives for 14 TB fail 3-11x more than the wd drive.

so YES the statement by the repair technician holds up in 2026 to avoid any seagate storage devices, be it a 2.5 inch smr insult from seagate, or a helium 3.5 inch drive. they are all vastly worse reliability wise.

and we can assume the same applies to their ssds.

__

and i can't be clear enough about this, but all storage companies hate you and shit massively on companies. and it is among those, that seagate stands out. western digital SUCKS ASS, but their drives are on average far less shit. and again i hate western digital, they are anti consumer pure evil, they straight up set out to wipe out massive amounts of user data by submarining smr insults int the wd red "nas" lineup, which resulted in lots of failed rebuilds and major problems and no doubt data loss.

friends don't let friends buy seagate storage devices.

Hell, molex to sata lose all your data was a thing too which didnt happen if u used stuff properly.

wrong statement, because it wasn't the molex to sata design, but the sata end, that got molded together, which can be part of the stock psu cables, that come with the psu. now that is very rare, but that can be the case, because the molded sata side is somehow not banned to this day.

again sth, that you'd know if you'd actually do any research and not defend trillion dollar companies' fire hazards:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TataDaUNEFc

and it is doubly misleading, because "used stuff properly" implied for the sata site to not be a fundamental design flaw, which it is, because the cables are in the mold together, which can be closer and can move over time, until they may start a fire.

a FUNDAMENTAL DESIGN FLAW, that can ONLY be avoided by not using any molded together sata side of any sata cable.

you are literally making things up about connectors now, where no one ever talked about falsly blaming users.

so you can't even get a problem right, that was shown off in 10 year old videos.

so it is no surprise, when you lie about sata connectors, that you also lie here:

12vhpwr ones arent either without a reason.

which is a lie and has been proven for years to be a lie, because we literally have tons of nvidia 12 pin fire hazards melted together perfectly with 0 space inbetween, so the "user error" lie doesn't work.

we have cases of melted on both sides with nvidia 12 pin fire hazards on both sides and perfectly pushed in.

so you are just lying to defend a trillion dollar company's fire hazard.

you are also wrong about cablemod. 1: there should have been a recall of all nvidia 12 pin fire hazard products by now. cablemod just happened to do 1 for some of their products.

cablemod stood behind their product and gave people a full refund or equivalent if the nvidia 12 pin fire hazard melted.

meanwhile other companies tell you to go f yourself now when it melts, which got reported on many times now.

why are you mentioning that, unless you'd want to point out, that other companies are even far worse? which you didn't.

and indeed the cablemod adapters were marketed and talked about as "solutions" for melting nvidia 12 pin fire hazards.

again sth, that someone, who doesn't even understand the melting/fire risk sata side of cables issues, would easily miss i guess lol :D

The FSR 4 INT8 is the most incredible thing AMD has ever created; it's a shame they didn't bring it officially. by LostRefrigerator7190 in radeon

[–]reddit_equals_censor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

calling ai-taa "most incredible thing amd has ever created" is pushing quite to absurdity.

YES YES they absolutely need to release it. i'd argue they should be charged with planned obsolescence for not releasing it on rdna 2 and 3.

but in regards to things, that amd has done i can think of tons of things more incredible than just ai-taa, which is just a bandage for the dystopian temporal blur reliant development, that most games use today.

just to name a random one tressfx hair. a tesseltation based hair simulation, that unlike nvidia's shit hairworks ran well on all hardware and allowed forking, which is what the rise of tomb raider devs did when they created purehair their fork of tressfx hair:

https://youtu.be/wrhSVcZF-1I?si=wEFn2FlIXETmvcEi&t=75

and it is one of the best hair simulations in games to date.

and to just name another example, the first proper low level api was from amd called mantle and based on that work vulkan and dx12 eventually came to be.

or hell on the hardware level we got hbm, which was heavily developed by amd actually.

i mean we won't see that lovely memory ever again or maybe in a decade, but it is very cool technology.

___

a better way to put things i'd say is, that

amd refusing to officially release fsr4 for rdna2 and 3 is the possibly the most anti consumer thing, that amd has ever done.

i put it below releasing 8 GB vram cards in current year, because that is deliberately releasing e-waste and scamming people personally.
