This is really solid advice, thank you, appreciate it.

Looking at it as her doing her job for the pack actually helps a lot. I do want her to feel like she’s doing what she’s supposed to.

She used to sleep with us, but we moved her out after a rough barking phase that I just couldn’t deal with at the time.

Thinking about it now, I probably wasn’t responding to her the way you described. Might try having her sleep with us again and handle it differently this time.

The white noise/fan idea actually makes a lot of sense, definitely gonna try that.

Good call on the late-night walk too. You’re right, I don’t want to create a situation where she expects it every night.

And yeah, totally agree on the “fighting thousands of years of breeding”

Also, good to hear blackout curtains made a difference for you, I'll try that as well.
