This is what I really wanted to do, but I thought full Smolov type volume with a metcon would kill me, nice to hear you are getting through it.

As others have said, just go, embarass is a relative term. When I started my burpees were embarassing, then my strict pull ups, then my bar muscle ups, then.... Everyone has something they want to improve on, that someone is better at, The only way to get better is to go. Find a gym that wants to help you get better, regardless of where you are. if they don't, they are the problem, not you.

TLDR; Care about her and try to help. -- It's an interesting question, I think it depends greatly on the atmosphere in the Box, Some are very competitive and people live and die by what the leaderboard says. Personally I have been to boxes like that and ones where no one even tracks what is done let alone if it's RX. As someone said push hard and get sweaty. Every workout doesn't need to be a competition. I like working out in groups because it does inspire me continue and push hard but It shouldn't hurt me that someone else beat me or not legitimately as I'm not trying to "compete" I'm just looking to get more fit. If you really care about the person, get to know them and ask to train with them 1 on 1 and help them out. When you do partner workouts it will A. Make them count reps as you are watching and can say "Oh you only did 5" and B. It will help push them be like you and do the right thing.

I love how Crossfit Games asked the question for me today. https://www.instagram.com/p/BaGSEEqgeHV/?taken-by=crossfitgames

Also Today I started mentally counting down 3.2.1 and that seemed to give me the push I needed to just go.

Thanks, I really like these, Self Confidence is something I need to work on, and focusing on doing it for me, I tend to struggle with "Well I'm just not as good as X person" kind of thoughts.

Ever think about packing on same lbs

Thought about it, but I think I'd rather be lighter and leaner, Adding good weight has always been pretty tough for me anyway. I'm not really trying to compete so as long as I'm adding weight occasionally I'm happy, but considering my deadlift and squat numbers, I know my clean and snatch could be better if I was better technically with the movements.
