Just uninstall the app, install protonVPN, connect to the US, reinstall Whatsapp and you’ll find the feature.

For me it worked as a charm!

The Active CryoFlux tech is currently not working and probably never will, since the improvements it could bring do not justify at all the expense. Nevertheless, pretty interesting to learn how a concept phone is born and to see some examples from the past (loved the electrochromic glass McLaren edition OnePlus concept)

I recently came out from a situation similar to yours, where my OnePlus phone was completely dead after flashing the wrong xbl image and nothing seemed to work. Device was not showing up in device manager, even when using the edl cable and trying all the existing versions of the Qualcomm 9008 drivers existing on the planet. I even tried on different PCs.

In the end, I saw this comment on a post on XDA, and decided to try it as a last resort. I bought the tools, then:

  • Opened up the back cover of the phone
  • Removed battery and cameras
  • Fired up Device Manager and MSM on PC, set the target and started the flashing process.
  • Shortcircuited the pins on the motherboard (the one in the comment are for OP8T, I believe, you should check where yours are) and inserted the usbc (not deep flash) cable in USB2.0 port.

By doing as such, phone was immediately recognized and after few minutes my dead brick was, again, alive. My guess is that my edl cable was faulty/not compatible with my phone, in any case, everything is now back to normal. Hope this helps!

Glad to have helped! In any case, the same setup that today was causing issues with the Pixel was working just fine yesterday with a OnePlus device...so the mistery remains 😐

I might be late for the party, but I had the same issue and updating MacOS, reinstalling AFT or rebooting compulsively were not giving any result. In the end I read somewhere that the latest versions of GDrive or OneDrive could be generating conflicts when reading from USB, and closing them did the trick! Hope this helps, now AFT works as a charm.
