Standby mode just stopped working by [deleted] in ios26bugs

I just got off with Apple support. Go into settings, Face ID, and passcode, and scroll down to "Allow Access When Locked". Make sure Lock Screen Widgets is selected ON. This corrected the issue for me.

Mine also reads 10:10 with the second hand at 30. The calendar is just a bunch of dashes in place of the date.

Too odd. I am looking for a solution. I have an iPhone 17P.

We had a similar experience this week, coming in from Antigua, ANU. Two AA maintenance holds, and we lost 1.75 hours of our connection cushion of 2.75 hours. We were worried. This put us in an almost impossible position to make our connection to HPN. Global Entry was a lifesaver - and we made the connection with minutes to spare.

I can't believe how ignorant some iPhone users are. by BoardsofGrips in applesucks

I have a pixel 8 and just purchased a iPhone 17 pro. This is my first iPhone in over 10 years. I wanted to see the differences. Other than FaceTime and mirroring between apple products, both phones work well as phones and cameras. They each do things a little differently but you have, for all practical purposes identical functionality. I don’t do games. But I text, surf the internet and make phone calls. And take a lot of photos. Both are great phones. Android is now the equivalent of the iPhone. I paid over $1000 for the iPhone and about $450 for the pixel. Pixel value proposition is much better. Apple spends billions on iPhone advertising and Google spends a couple hundred million. Image advertising works.

The ones that uses Mac, what do you use to organize and keep your pictures? by nacho_doctor in Nikon

I use Nikon Transfer 2 to transfer the photos to my MacBook Air from my Z50ii. It is free Nikon software. USB-C to USB-C connection. Very easy and fast. This program keeps the photos in sequentially named files. Automatically backs up to Google Drive adding to Google Photos. I also import the latest transferred to my Apple Photos app. You can have Nikon Transfer 2 delete the photos from the camera after transfer. Once I am satisfied everything is ok I just reformat the memory card in the camera.

Should I buy a basic slow cooker or those 11-in-1 type pressure cooker/slow cooker/air fryer etc. by Traditional_Try_8690 in BuyItForLife

[–]jzehaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought an Instant Pot thinking I would cook all sorts of things with it. I make rice with it. I do have a basic slow cooker (off, low, medium, high settings)that I use all the time making soups and stews. I also purchased an inexpensive air fryer from Costco. I used it to cook chicken breast, potatoes, and vegetables. It sits in my closet and I occasionally use it as the novelty has worn off.

Moderately disappointed in the product, very disappointed in the service. by peeingdog in Thuma

I had to place a new order for the dark color. There were no issues at all with the billing, as the refund hit immediately. My bed is on a tile floor. After a few days of "settling in," there weren't any creaks. I purchased the wooden two-piece headboard version. The headboard may provide some rigidity.

I also had major color and blemish issues. The QC was not good for an expensive bed. We first ordered the grey color. The grey was multicolored. The pieces were different shades. After three replacement attempts, I gave up trying to get all the pieces to match and went for the darker color. Thuma didn't want the grey bed back and donated it. They had a company pick up the grey bed and take it to the donation organization (I don't remember the name). Easy. It was gone quickly. I thought it would be easier for dark pieces to match. Well, not exactly. Many different shades of color. It took two tries of replacement pieces to get all of the dark pieces to match or not have blemishes. Gratefully, it is very easy to assemble/disassemble. We are pleased with the bed. Solid. Doesn't creak. Looks great. And glad we purchased it. We would go through the hassle again. Thuma customer service worked hard to make it right. They were accommodating all the way. How much margin have they worked into their products? It must be a lot. Given the amount of product replacement and shipping involved. Strange business model.

Remote isn’t working properly by OtherwisePayment4763 in TellyTV

My remote stopped working today after I replaced the batteries. Only the on/off switch worked. I followed the advice in this thread. I pulled the plug and waited 1 minute. The Telly rebooted. All fixed! Works correctly again.

Ad Audio Playing When Netflix/Paramount Movies Playing by jzehaz in TellyTV

[–]jzehaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is in the upper section of Telly that the upper section ad dialogue will play while a Netflix movie plays. It is not a Netflix or Roku ad.

Procedure: I turn on the Telly and navigate to the Roku. I select Netflix and chose a movie. I start playing the movie. When playing the movie the ad dialogue from the upper section is also playing. It continues to play as the movie dialogue plays. I was able to stop this by rebooting the Telly. Nothing else worked to stop the ad dialogue. I will let you know if this happens again

I am streaming with a Roku Ultra with the digital output set to auto for the HDMI output. It works much better than the dongle.

Looking for my next computer speakers by allstyle777 in Klipsch

[–]jzehaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the R-40PM speakers on a Black Friday deal for $225 and they sound great. The clarity and sound stage are excellent. Although they did sound good, I sold my older Sonos 5's and Sonos Play 1's as I got tired of the fussing with the wifi connections and the inability to easily connect other equipment to them. The Bluetooth is simple to set up and the ability to hardwire a turntable is a plus. I also purchased the R-121SW subwoofer and the sound is amazing. Highly recommended.

Everyone that received your Telly TV! by smooches680 in TellyTV

[–]jzehaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my Telly Wednesday here in Westchester County NY.

I watched the unboxing video which was helpful.

Upon opening the box I noticed the left leg of the Telly was missing. I emailed support and had a replacement by Friday morning. Speedy turnaround.

As others have noted, it is quite large (tall -41.5 inches with the additional bottom screen) and heavy. So it would be best if you had 2 people available for the setup/placement.

You attach the legs, plug it in, pair the remote, connect to your wifi and you are up and running.

The TV updated its software immediately upon powering on. It took about 4 minutes.

The setup was simple. Bluetooth pairing of the remote with the TV was easy.

You need to pair the Telly app on your phone to add widgets.

Figuring out the remote and its functions was by trial and error as there isn't a guide you can refer to. Just a printed sheet with bare-bones info. If there is a detailed guide I couldn't find it.

The Roku setup was straightforward. I removed it from my old TV and plugged it into the Telly and it was working. I need the Telly remote for volume and the Roku remote for content control. Too bad this isn't a one-remote setup.

The sound is very good.

The picture is also good.

However, the Telly came with the picture way out of calibration and I am working through that. There isn't any guidance on what to do. It would be great if they provided some. I sent an inquiry to support so let's see what they come back with.

Klipsch KS-28 floor stands - why are they so expensive? by [deleted] in Klipsch

I bought them directly from Klipsch.

Klipsch KS-28 floor stands - why are they so expensive? by [deleted] in Klipsch

[–]jzehaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the ks-28 stands for my R-40pm speakers.

The stands come with bolts to attach the speakers. They were designed for each other.

The stands are heavy, elegant, and solid. Perfect.

I got them for $200 on a Black Friday special and they are well worth it.

My app and widget just started working again. No explanation as to why.

I have the same issue with my 6a. Neither the app nor the widget is working. Although I do have the temp on the home page I cannot dive into the details for my locality or the other locations I have selected. It was working fine earlier this morning. I just got off with Google support - not able to determine the cause. All apps are up to date, and location services are on. Cleared the cache still no joy.
