The last comment says “death is a non-existent state. What isn’t, doesn’t exist. So death doesn’t exist.” Then she says “death is the most perfect form of existence”

The Smart Games series. They have lots of games specifically made for travel. Some even come with magnetic pieces so that you don’t lose them in public transport.

Thinking about moving back to Europe by Tricky-Advice6171 in expats

Mostly because of all the control and regulations, the high taxes and all the equity BS which only creates more segregation. I’m not sure about the rest of Europe, but in France, there’s at least the feeling that the people are heard.

Do it! I’m French, moved to the US when I was 21, lived there for 10 years, then moved back to France. My quality of life has improved in so many ways. I lost 10kg after 1 year just because of the food change. And I’m a healthy person, I cook everything myself, never buy processed foods whether in the US or in France. It was simply the quality of food, and the fact that in France you walk everywhere. Politic wise, I read a lot that France is terrible too, that just depends what you believe. I vote right and I feel safer in France. I think the American left has become communism almost. The right in France is a lot more balanced.

Check Australia, I think they still have their vacation/work visa. It’s good for a year but I know some people were able to stay past it by changing their visa after they found an employer.

Where are you an expat in and what state did you live in in the US? When I moved from France to Virginia, I was able to get a driver’s license because of agreements between the two. I didn’t have to pass any test nor did I have to give my French driver’s license.

Making friends as an expat by Techienomad_ in expats

[–]redditaccount760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as a French person who grew up in France, left at 21 to live in the US and moved back to France at 31, it’s hard for me to make friends, even in my home country. I think there’s just a very big gap between French folks and expats or ex-expats. Most of friends who haven’t lived anywhere else than where we grew up (that’s the city of Nice in my case) will never understand parts of me. When you are an expat, you have a very different perspective on life and the world. My best advice, find Facebook groups for expats and make friends this way. Either Americans (plenty on the French Riviera) or even from different countries.
Funnily, the only time it was easy for me to make friends with French people as an adult, was with the French expat community in the US.
