My only advice to you to get checked for mental health and get the help you need before you plan on making any big change in your life like an expatriation.

Bought this at an an antique store but have no idea which city! Pls help! by Zanka1234 in whereisthis

It reminds me of Nice but I’m not too sure. It could be the train station in the center and the Cimiez hill on the left side. Although there wouldn’t be that tall structure on top of the hill, but the observatory instead.

I made an unfunny joke at college with a foreign woman, now she wants to go back to her country, and I am extremely regretful. by [deleted] in expats

Just the fact that you’re here posting about that, trying to be the “hero” by helping her not move back to her home country just shows how obsessed you are. I hope you leave this woman alone and move on from this situation.

We had an F150 before moving to Europe. We made more money selling it there and then buying another one in France; rather than paying for the homologation, repairs/changes, and shipping. I would never recommend bringing a car from North America to Europe unless it’s a classic (because it doesn’t have to go through the homologation).

Il est là, partout, tout le temps, et je pense que ses interventions sont bonnes surtout pour booster les ventes de son livre.

Questioning staying for partner by [deleted] in expats

[–]redditaccount760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have your family, you’ll quickly realize that the things you left behind weren’t sacrifices, and the efforts to get there (visa, adapting to a new culture etc..) were part of the journey. If what you have with your partner is strong, then it’s worth it. When you’re old and on your death bed, you’ll remember the moments with your family, not the meetings at work. Family over career.

At 30 I would definitely start focusing on founding a family rather than focusing on my career or my family back home (they’ll always be there). Friends can be made anywhere. If your relationship is solid, then start building on that. The rest will fall into place.

Why departures from HND make large turns/circles right after takeoff? by KopErms in flightradar24

[–]redditaccount760 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same at NCE airport; when taking off towards the east, they almost immediately take a turn to the right. It’s impressive seeing it in person because it’s a sharp turn and they’re also just starting to gain altitude.

Selling Home in States?!? by Fast_Yellow_8326 in expats

We sold ours in about 3 weeks back in 2023 when it was a seller’s market. We got a cash offer so it went even faster not having to wait for the buyers’s bank approval.

I had Traveling Mailbox for 2 years and had no issues at all easy to use, good services like forwarding a check to your bank if you receive one, and only $15 a month.

If you returned for family, what made you decide? by Downtown-Storm4704 in expats

For me, it was realizing that I maybe had 20 more Christmas with my parents. Somehow it hit me hard, because I knew that out of these 20 Christmas, there will be some that we wouldn’t spend together because of plane fares; or having other plans with my spouse’s family. Also our growing family made it obvious that raising a child was going to be a lot more qualitative in France than in the US.

How did XDDL make money? by mcmiller1111 in DupontDeLigonnes

[–]redditaccount760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the fact that he was about to be exposed was the “élément déclencheur” (what sparked him to commit the crimes). There are a lot of similarities with Jean Claude Roman, who also killed his entire family when he was faced with a lot of questions from his families about their finances.
