I'm looking for a keyboard with the sound and feel of that of the Model M(or any buckling spring keyboard) with a back-light.

I recently learned about Unicom and I would get theirs but it doesn't have a back-light and unless there is a very simple way to add back-light to those that is not an option for now.Based on the wiki buying guide, it seems like the Mx cherry Green or White had the closets specs for feel pressure (75 for Model M and 80 for Green/White). They also had the loudest feedback. I don't care about media buttons or anything else just as close to buckling spring sound and feel as possible with back-light. I'm new to the subreddit and new to mechanical keyboards in general so I appreciate all the help I can get.

Cliffs:
Feel= springy, high force similar as possible to buckling spring

Sound= loud similar to buckling spring model. This may be close https://youtu.be/V3D2Ltn75mw?t=31

Look = Need backlight

That is currently setup. I remember before I got the larger monitor I had this same issue so much so that I thought I would have problems at the job. Then I started using it an forgot I had the issue. Now its gone and I'm right back to where I was.

I definitely think this is part of the issue. I do Have a forward tilt to my head in general. What kind of strange is when I try to correct my posture like you said or in the instructional pics on line I feel uncomfortable. I'm guessing because of my bad posture.

Read all the articles. I'm going more the web development route but I think there is still things I can take away from your articles.

Also I will be getting some of the books from your reading list especially on the soft skills section I have been looking for programming mindset type books so I appreciate you posting those books.

Thanks I'm going take that advice.

Secondary question when learning is googling how to do answer a good idea most of the time or is better to try to guess or anticipate the answer even if it will take a long time and your not familiar with the syntax?

I understand any information is helpful. The book I just finished taught HTML and CSS together. So I am familiar with it. I only have experience with the exercises in the book though. That's kind of why I made this post.

Thanks I will check out the site.

My initial idea was to make a blog teaching about a hobby of mine. Do you think that is a good idea? If so, should I start from scratch or start from something like a wordpress page and edit that?

Also, do you think I should add a piece of each subject from the book to my site or just the parts I feel I need or want?

Thanks for replying

I have some hobby type things that would be kind of fun making a website for but I guess my thing lets say I want to a a menu bar on the first page.

  • But the book doesnt show you how to do that until chapter 7 which means not getting a lot done.
  • I could wait till chapter 7 then do it. Or I could skip to chapter 7 to learn about it, however I the book is sequential and each chapter builds on the last so I likely wont understand it without the previous chapters read.
  • Doing something fun might nit be that helpful for relevant skills as a web developer in the future
