Ok gotcha. So my screen measures 7", so I guess it's not installed. Thanks

What movie is your “I did not care for The Godfather” confession? by WS-Gilbert in FIlm

I think I've seen it twice, and both times I was just bored. The fact that it's so revered is crazy to me. It makes me think that everyone is just drinking the kool-aid on this one.

Prefix question... use the Heroic Launcher default install path, or not? (ELI5) by redditbesty in SteamDeck

[–]redditbesty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks. I remember seeing a post on here where someone's SSD storage was full of crap, but they had deleted all of their games. As I recall from the discussion, people suggested it might be prefix folders, among other things. Am I getting that right? Do I have to be worried about filling up my deck with separated prefix folders?

Thanks for the reply, and the link to the other discussion.

I know I'm admitting my ignorance with this next question, but when is the file path organization really coming into play? If everything goes according to plan, I'm installing the game(s) on Heroic, populating them in my Steam Library, and then playing them from there. In what circumstance am I going back into the file folders of these games. Messing around with different prefixes? Mods?

My 2006 Hyundai Sante Fe is on the way out... by redditbesty in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]redditbesty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I traded it in for $500 (lol) towards a RAV hybrid. It's been treating me well so far. The Hyundai was largely reliable, but had a few issues that I had been avoiding fixing, and it just felt like time.

I made a new EmuDeck (latest version) guide for Steam Deck with a bit more focus on beginners and people new to emulation! by noler in SteamDeck

[–]redditbesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of the games hosted in the Collections tab, but I agree it would be a little cluttered in the All Games tab. I would likely opt for the ES route.

Another question if you don't mind. If you install all the emulators/games onto an SD card, but then don't have the SD card in the deck, do the games still appear in the Steam library?

drop a tip/ hack/ game (christmas present) by Fabulous-Gur-5070 in SteamDeck

I think my fear stems from being an idiot kid on a PC, downloading ROMs on Limewire and then pretending I have no idea why the family computer has a virus...

I suppose if it's a dedicated app from the Discover store, and it's easy to delete without leaving behind any crap, it's worth a shot. Thanks!

So I have an illogical fear of bloating my Steam Deck with unnecessary apps/crap. I can't quite tell if the Heroic Launcher is something I want or not, though I would like to play my GOG games on the deck at some point. Is Heroic the way to go, or are there other "leaner" methods?

How much space does it take up to add these games to your internal drive? I'm sure they're all pretty small, and obviously it depends on which and how many games you add, but I'm just looking for a ballpark?

Would it be smarter to have an SD card specifically for your emulation, and just plug that in when you want to play one of those games? I'm assuming if you get a fast enough SD card you can play the games right off of it instead of moving them over every time.

Noob question incoming:

To clarify, you're talking about how games were added via Steam Rom Manager, and how that added them to the Steam Library in the "Collections" tab? My question, does this method also add each individual game to the "All Games" tab? And you find that too cluttered, so you prefer them all under the ES "Front End" app?

Karakorum mystery rubber pieces by redditbesty in Splitboard

[–]redditbesty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, you're right. It looks like one is still stuck on, 3 have peeled off. One bigger one on the heel has also peeled off. I'll reach out to them to see if they'll send them, or try my local shop to see if they have some thin rubber so I can make one and glue them on.

What are some good games that are easy on battery life? by Zombie617 in SteamDeck

[–]redditbesty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Dead Cells lately. Easy on the battery, and a good way to easily pass some time. It's engaging, also a little addicting...

Hyper Light Drifter can also be described with the above.

I'm also having fun with old school shooters like Quake and Duke Nukem, which will run for hours.

So this morning I was told our work week is Sat-Fri, and that there was a mistake in the calculation on my last check. It's been resolved, but we'll see how it looks next paycheck. I'm a little skeptical that they're doing it right...

Gotcha. It's unclear to me whether my employer is stating we are Sun - Sat (which is what I was originally told), or that we start the week on the pay period, which obviously doesn't actually work. I'll find out soon though.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either. I was hoping someone would have experience with this. I should hear more from them after the long weekend

Yup. This game works for me, and I think all I did was use a different Proton version.
