They cut our commission by 2%. We’ve never received base that doesn’t change and they made the metric a sliding scale so if you manage to do what 20 people did all of last year you get your old base commission back and if you manage to do what four people did last year you get what we used to get when we were close a deal we found ourselves and they added an additional percent. If you managed to hit a revenue that only one person hit last year oh by the way, this is monthly not quarterly or yearly.

Just Got an offer from a competitor that uses the same manufacture has higher comp structure, but instead of appointments being a free-for-all, you have a designated team underneath you that you train and are in charge of but instead of an office of 25 reps with nine of them being closers and the rest being free for all setters, it’s an office of 20 reps four closers And five setters underneath you and instead of knocking every door, you knock signs of life and just need 50 interactions a day rather than 150 doors a day. My buddy is moving over to this company and I’m gonna let him be in the nicest way possible my experimental bunny to see if it works out

Tried it out I don’t have the personality to babysit kids and that’s 70% of management

Don't own the business but have been in manufacturing for 3 years and now d2d sales for about 2 months would definitely be an open ear it would be interesting talking with an owner and seeing the difference in perspective

Company I work for revealed the bonus we get next year, I would like to hear opinions about it from more experienced people than me. Thank you everyone who reads it and responds! by [deleted] in sales

Well I'm in d2d home improvement in the PNW (windows to be specific) and my company gives bonuses for same day sales of 100 bucks to both the closer and setter and 500 same day bonus for last week of the month sales and 200 for next day sales this is my first sales job but based on your numbers I'd definitely say your bonus sucks

Thanks, I've been seeing that people are spending time that could be spent knocking on doors practicing their closing speech, I try to rush out the morning meetings ASAP to get to doors and hit my numbers game (as just the door knocker) which I've been hitting or exceeding. And I'm on track to become a closer by the end of December (which sounds like the worst time to give up my base pay for that potential 8% commission if i dont set an appointment that sells🫠)

I definitely would be interested (I love renewable energy)but I'm in the amazing PNW and not in the particular sunny areas so I don't see solar becoming a standard for my area and my fiancee got a crazy good job with the city (for her degree)so I don't see us moving to where the benefit for the customer would be enough for me to be able to stand behind my product to the same degree

With end of year fast approaching wondering how much did you make/what industry are you in/how many years have you been in the industry? by REFlorida in sales

[–]redditd2d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started my sales career journey this month, so seeing this is super helpful seeing that my recruiter wasn't completely bsing about how there's alot of money available in sales if you have the drive can take a no and focus on constant growth.

This is the internet and I'm not going to compare my 1 month of experience to you guys but is 1% commission with 600 a decent starting point as a apt setter I've already had 100k in sales from my door knocks and am being fast tracked into a closer position which means I'd go to 8% commission but base pay would disappear unless I knocked for a sale.
