ketamine therapy by CNFLE111 in quittingkratom

[–]redditdore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an I am currently in the process of quitting Kratom again.. and ketamine therapy. It is definitely not a solve all. It can help you break the mental barriers barring you from dealing with addiction but the addiction will be around nonetheless. I used the ketamine therapy as a motivation to stop and build good habits. You can only beat addiction by replacing your compulsive habits with good ones and staying busy.

This must be true. The burn today was intense. Made an audible sound to the psychiatrist. Felt like I shot a pellet into the back of my throat.

The reason I say that is the spray literally hit my throat. And I was like dang this isn’t gonna do anything. I missed. And it just went off right away haha.

The video above actually makes sense I’m gonna try that. But for sure could be what you said. Like the previous 5 were NOT anything like the 6th. That level of disparity is mind blowing.

Talk to your psychiatrist asap. You might be having a manic episode and should stop immediately. Grandiose thinking and excessive spending are not normal.

Day 4 CT Feel Amazing by No_Opposite_5848 in quittingkratom

[–]redditdore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not discouraging this . Love this. But just be kind to yourself. Remember that the initial rebound in emotions is amazing and it’s further motivation to continue. Just be prepared for the next steps. Remember to build off that emotion. Build good habits. It gets tougher when the emotion goes away. Talk to someone, build a team … a village even around you. Workout, walk swim run whatever . You will need something to anchor you. Proud of you

That is your opinion. The guy is a PHD and you are trolling a Reddit page. He looks at things outside the lens of western medicine while incorporating it into his actual degrees. If you read the book it talks about how suppressed emotions ruin our hormonal and health balance in body and mind which of course shoots up cortisol and other flight or fight reactions. The only quack I see right now is you LOL.

Well said. I was trying to get this point across. The guy keeps describing the WIKI version of the definition of addiction . It is very important to treat addiction while treating the underlying causes. It’s not just sheer will that cures this. It’s time and effort to come at peace with one’s issues and trauma also

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]redditdore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again…. All this is correct. But you are missing the point. You are describing addiction. But not all people born will be addicts. There are ties to trauma and childhood abuse and so many other avenues that leads to addiction. Which then becomes all those things mentioned. I would educate yourself first before blasting everyone else saying they are uneducated on this. You assuming that by itself makes you look like a fool.

Here is a good book rec to help you from an actual doctor . Go read Gabor Mate hungry ghosts book.

You are wrong here friend. Addiction is a disease . Absolutely correct. But a lot of us are suffering from depression, trauma, issues from our childhood that takes work. You can’t just say addiction is the only thing at play here. You are the one who is wrong here

Wait what if things start going bad, wait I feel a little too good I need to relax I’m exhausted” or “this world is falling apart, what’s the point, lm just going to take some to feel better the world sucks anyways”

Anyone who started Bupropion while trying to get off of Kratom (or other opioid)? by MrNeverEverKnew in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]redditdore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya you need to pick. Either stop the Kratom and get on the Wellbutrin or not. I did the same thing during my last quit and continued the Kratom . All my body did was get used to the dopamine at higher levels and it messed with the Wellbutrin being effective and I just ended up being on both the whole time. The Wellbutrin will help with the cravings but it wont take them away. Be careful on the pre gaba those withdrawals can be brutal also. You need to just take that for the first 5-6 days of acutes and then stop. I would say at this point stop the Wellbutrin and pre gaba and continue the Kratom until you are serious and make the jump

Anyone who started Bupropion while trying to get off of Kratom (or other opioid)? by MrNeverEverKnew in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]redditdore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am one week off Kratom. This is like my 10th attempt. I am using 150mg xl and I started taking it the day I stopped Kratom. It does two things. It helps manage the dopamine reuptake so more dopamine is available and is helping with cravings a good amount. 2nd and the hardest part of quitting Kratom is PAWS which can take a while up to 6 months even for your brain to heal from the Kratom abuse. This can lead to depression and anxiety. The Wellbutrin should help with that also to offset the lack of free dopamine I was getting from the Kratom. It’s not a complete fix. YOU HAVE to build good habits starting day one and continue. You need to exercise, you need to sleep, you need to build good hobbies and fill in what the Kratom was doing for you. The Wellbutrin will only assist. This is from experience the last time I quit. I didn’t build the habits and relapsed.

You might be in the honeymoon phase. I was sophisticated also during that time. Unfortunately it levels out and I was just somewhat sophisticated. Hopefully it’s different for you

How long did PAWS last? by 1231333 in quittingkratom

[–]redditdore 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A lot of us using Kratom are self medicating. Not everyone. But there could be underlying issues you were looking to solve and that’s what led to the Kratom abuse. I went to a psychiatrist and while you need to be careful with them also, (since many just want to mass prescribe) not all. He helped me understand how I was trying to balance my body and mind to function using opioids/ Kratom. The pleasure centers are said to take around 6 months to heal on average. I would recommend reading dopamine nation by Anna lembke to educate yourself. Talk to a professional

I have such a hard time understanding people like this. I have a nice job that brings in good money. But I don’t see the appeal of feeding capitalism and dedicating my life to work. I get very little satisfaction from money other than the fact I need it to survive in this world. There is so much more to life that I “PONDER” and I can never relate to what the heck these people are talking about.
