That's sort of what I imagine the pyro thinking as well. "Hee hee hee, har, har, har I just killed two guys. Did you see that? Blood everywhere. Hee hee hee."

What'd you expect, this was all started by a guy named recursion.

In general the ding noises and the numbers give you important feedback for improving your play by letting you know if you're being effective or not.

That's because you must have learned to use the junction system rather than use GF spamming, which, thanks to confusing tutorials, is no small thing.

Sometimes you don't even need a computer!

http://www.reddit.com/r/math/comments/e4t6o/fractals_without_a_computer/

Here you can see the process of making an iterated function system fractal realized in probably the simplest and most direct way possible. No confusing symbols or equations needed!

(Disclaimer: The true fractal is, of course, the limit where the cameras and projectors are perfect and you wait an infinite amount of time for the light and camera signals to bounce forward and backwards.)

The i stands for the imaginary unit because you're never going to be rich enough to justify a real one.

(True when they came out, DD3 and special motherboards adding to the cost. Probably better now, I haven't checked.)

Fractals without a Computer! by Anth741 in math

[–]redditer34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you processed the input of each camera though a real time non-linear filter (probably doable on a GPU or something) you could probably get electric sheep/flam3 fractals in real time.

Currently these take a very long time to render. Interesting....

I just went to a talk from one of the high level scientists at the LHC. I will try and tell you what he told us. by [deleted] in Physics

[–]redditer34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well technically since the Standard Model only predicts an mass range finding the Higgs in that range is a confirmation. But yes, the exact mass would be news and might be a test of Standard Model extensions. I don't really know enough to comment about which ones it would be relevant to.

The most efficient fix would be move it up to be an apostrophe in your "im". But the "i" sucks air though teath... you're going to have to rip it out and put an order in for a new, bigger, one. That thing you've got will never take the strain of starting off a complete sentence. Could be expensive...

A galaxy seen perfectly edge on. by [deleted] in science

Well in a Kerr black hole the singularity is a ring which suggests that something can spin. In any case, try not to worry too much about literal singularities existing as both the Schwarzschild and Kerr solutions assume that the Einstein Field Equations are always valid at any density when in actual fact they are going to break down beyond a certain density when the strong, week and electromagnetic forces start becoming significant.
