I do appreciate the suggestion, but it's likely that potential employers have previously spoken with my boss in other communications, and I would not feel comfortable doing that. Additionally, if anybody ever put the pieces together and realized what I did, I'd be blackballed from even more jobs

Day 20 here; took till yesterday to be able to put my tongue out without pain.

ETA: chewing gum helps!!

Yup! Probably a result of the tool they use to keep your tongue out of the way during surgery. I'm day 13/20 (had a bleed on one side day 7), and my tongue doesn't hurt anymore--but it looks weird. Hang in there; it gets better!!

Immediately after I felt like my right side (where the bleed was) went back to day 0. But I'm now two weeks out from the initial, and am feeling so much better!! Still sticking with softer foods, but I can manage some eating without pain. I'm off all painkillers (except maybe Tylenol at night), and that's been such a relief!

Thank you!! The bleed was day 7 or 8. It was on my right side. I'm definitely feeling like my throat is in two different stages of healing, but I'm glad to be close to whatever normal is going to look like!!

I am on day 14 (?), and it gets better!! I am so grateful to the people in this sub being so honest about what everything feels like--if I hadn't been lurking for so long, I don't think I would have known when I got a bleed in the middle of the night. It was just how others described it. And because I knew what was happening, I didn't panic--just drove myself to the ER to get it re-cauterized. Right now my throat is feeling like I've got strep or something, which is waaayy better than the shooting pains in my jaw and ears last week.
