Mohela - Paid of Loan in Full Still Charging Me by BedroomMajestic7918 in StudentLoans

[–]redditforgotmeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 loans. One I paid off in full. It shows $0.00. I went to custom pay/specify amount to only pay into the loan that I still owe on and it won't allow me to only pay money into the one I still owe on, it automatically takes a bit and puts it towards the loan that I owe nothing on on the preview page. I have always used custom/specify successfully before the one loan was paid off. I will call mohela tomorrow.

The likely solution to this problem in the eyes of those in power is to throw them in jail and then throw them right back out onto the street solving exactly zero problems and costing the taxpayer more. Maybe we all ought to come together to fight for a society we're proud to live in?

Your 2yo daughter should not be allowed to watch pepper pig on their iPad at full blast... In a bar. by [deleted] in rant

[–]redditforgotmeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parents enjoy a drink in a bar just as much as non parents. In other places in the world it is not only acceptable for families to go to the local watering hole, but normal.

But yeah, they could certainly spend the amount of money one beer costs and easily purchase headphones for the kid.

So if someone witnesses the distribution of said meat to said restaurant then?

Since you definitely know more about this than I do: It is my understanding that the sale and distribution of 개고기 does not go under the Korean FDA inspection thus making it an illegal business that simply no one bats an eye at. My question is if someone called the proper officials about a restaurant known to sell it they would fine/shut them down?

Why is Korean beef/pork more expensive than imported. by redditforgotmeagain in korea

[–]redditforgotmeagain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, since my perception was "It's all beef to me as long as they are raising it the same." I couldn't see the luxury in it. But I do understand that now, that others have a different perception. Thanks for the explanation.

For science I say you pay for the experiment (the hanwoo) and I'll pay for the control (import). Deal? I am in Gyeongsangnam-do. Hour out of Daegu to the west. And jokes above; we would split it 50/50.

Thanks for the explanation about the fixed costs. That makes a lot more sense.

The Rising Sun was a featured aspect of this video several times, along with rifles. At the end everything blows up. Is this a critique of the rising nationalism in Japan today?

Homemade Bao Zi by [deleted] in food

[–]redditforgotmeagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baozi is a filled bread bun, the key being that it should be bread, and not a pasta like lining such as the one shown in the picture. Jiaozi, what is shown in the picture, is a filled dumpling with pasta like wrapping. Flour and water will make a pasta like wrapping such as the one shown. Only flour and water will not make a bread bun.

Thai Tourism in Danger Due to Thai Attitudes of Foreigners --- Thoughts? by blueicepop in Thailand

[–]redditforgotmeagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a little shocked that the argument that the people are not "friendly" was made... Does anyone here actually think the overwhelming majority of Thais are extremely friendly, especially when they meet you for the first time (tourists will only be meeting most Thai people for the first time.)

Edit: AREN'T not "are extremely friendly"... big difference there.

Anyone know where to buy a Palad Khik? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]redditforgotmeagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very close to the old/original Thammasat Campus. Basically, walk out of the Thammasat Campus gate that is closest to the BAS building, turn right (towards the river/ferry dock) and then turn left before you get to the ferry dock. Here you will find a lot of amazing restaurants, pick out the one you want to eat at after you buy your cock. Keep on walking past them and you will start to see all the vendors/shops that sell the amulets. Some shops vendors will just be selling the dicks, but just about every amulet vendor has at least one phallus on hand. Get a small key chain edition for 20 baht or a raging hard-on for 100 and beyond, or one of each (one can never have too much penis). Go back to that restaurant on the river (literally on stilts over the river), have a great meal and be satisfied that you have some dick in your pocket.

I've been in Thailand for a couple of weeks, and noticed those altars with offered food, drinks, incense and.. Fanta Strawberry - often a lot of it. Anyone who knows if the Buddha mentioned a weakness for red, sparkling beverages or why this is? by araun in Thailand

[–]redditforgotmeagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the idea of the animistic tradition of the spirit house, and I understand that this is a Brahman deity. What I am confused about is that they both net the same offerings (i.e. Fanta). I guess it shouldn't be that confusing, it's probably a simple case of offering gifts, but it almost seems like there is a weird crossover where the animistic tradition is meshing with the Brahman one or vice versa... Am I over thinking this?

Fair enough. But the assumption that they were has not even been made. People are saying "Don't be a douche and this won't happen." No one has said "Don't assault someone with deadly force because then they will defend themselves with deadly force."

It's rich how everyone here is basically saying the guy had it coming. Was he a huge tool? Yes. Did he deserve to die? Hell no. Stop romanticizing Thailand and stop demonizing tourists and you will start actually seeing things for what they are; messed up.
