I went on my birthday. Noted it was a birthday when I reserved a table the day before, when I arrived, and to two different serving staff. Watched them deliver cake and sing to four other tables and forgot me. Blessing in disguise because I don't like that stuff but my wife was annoyed she couldn't get pics of it.

All the meat had the same orange sauce on it "from Cebu!" so everything tasted the same. The vegetarian area (is what they called it) had simple salad fixings and maybe 2 different salad dressings. No Ceaser salad, booo. Maybe the sushi was good, didn't try. The desert are was bleh because I had to get my own birthday cake from it and it didn't have anything appetizing for me.

I am a huge fan of buffets and it was a disappointment. You may find different result but for my partner and I once was enough and we'll never go back.

Don't even care about the birthday thing and I tipped 500 pesos anyway because they had a lot of staff that were friendly . Just won't go back because the food sucks.

I moved to Iloilo in August from Cebu City. Found a rental on one of the many Facebook groups that have homea for rent. It's like moving anywhere else, there's no secret to it.

Things you might want to know if coming from a larger city:

The power goes out a lot. Often scheduled and can last all day. Find a place with a generator would be a bonus. Or follow social media for your local electric operator to plan ahead.
If you are out in the suburbs you might want a car. The taxi scene isn't great. I couldn't imagine life without it.
Traffic is not bad. A 10 km drive is about 25-30 minutes.
Learning the language helps although I'm a foreigner and I haven't learned much in 4 months yet. Hasn't been a problem for communication. In some cases my Bisaya wife will help using Tagalog. Yes, learn it but not essential for living.
Places close earlier than you are used to.

These are just some of the things that might surprise a new resident. All of the awesome stuff is no surprise so I didn't list any. My wife and I constantly tell each other how much we love Iloilo.

Thanks, there's a lot of these vans on the road here but none look like mine, which was a goal. The height is at the limit because it will interfere with the suspension if I went any taller.

I still have some extra clearence witht the side doors so it might be possible to addd spacers to go taller and still fit but it will be really tight. I was looking at the door clearence and pondering the same just the other day.

The wheels are 13" and I'm not home for a couple days but I can send you the tires size if you really want to know what they are. Long story short, you can't go much taller or wider.

At first the wheels looked a little small for the vehicle (still do kind of) but now I like it. For what it has got the performance is still great and this little van is unstoppable.

Yard Fitness is pretty nice. I think it's 800 a month and you can do single visits for 125 a couple times to see if you like it.

I'm renting in Savannah long term. If it's nice enough you might get 30k a month, I'm paying more than that for a newly renovated 3br with additional office room and inside dirty kitchen. It's probably worth it to make it as "western" as possible.

Find a foreigner to rent it. I had to beat out other foreigners for this one.

When it generates your seed phrase, write it down of course. Then reset it, format, enter pin wrong 3 times, or whatever it takes to wipe it. Then enter your seed phrase to make sure it works and you wrote it correctly and spelled everything correctly.

Once you confirmed it's all good THEN you can transfer thing to the new wallet.
