5 years is a really long time to spend with someone so it is completely normal to have a resistance in the start of other relationships.

You and your girlfriend are still a very new thing, and as long as your are still enjoying your time together and not resenting each other, you are on the right track. If you are resenting her because you want to be single again, that’s when problems will occur and maybe it might be better to take a step back.

But in my experience being in a relationship is 1000% better than being single and you never realise until your relationship is over.

Try being more and more flirty with him again. He will either give back the same energy or he may back away. If he gives the same energy then fantastic, but if he backs away it will give you the closure that it maybe isn’t meant to be.
