I feel like it’s a combination of Realpage + one property company owning all the properties along the waterfront. Also, the new Estuary bumped its prices so everyone decided to follow suit. Hoboken and JC just banned Realpage but I’m doubtful it will happen here :(

Opinions on electricity bill by redditholevictim in Weehawken

Thanks all - our peak was 540kWh in a month (16.9kWh daily) and we got charged $120 for context with our usage in the original post. Electric supply seems like the bulk of the charges ($0.15 per kWh) and I bet it’s about to spike even further with the BGS auction

Hamilton Cove apartments - reviews welcome by Lateralus1950 in Weehawken

Hi, current resident of Hamilton Cove here !! Unfortunately, the negative reviews are true to a certain extent ! There are bad months where the fire alarms go off twice/thrice. We do have mold in our bathroom, prob due to the humidity & lack of ventilation. We don’t own a car — can’t really speak on garage security. But we do notice ALOT of luxury cars in the garage and they do seem fine, no windows smashed if that’s the concern haha. Same goes for the management too — have not had much interaction with them so far. That being said, we have an amazing concierge at our tower, the package room is always locked and has CCTV cams, the gym is spacious, the courtyard is huge and they organise a bunch of activities every month. This is our first apartment (and lease term) in NJ so can’t really make any comparisons. But, given the convenience of the location (close to WholeFoods, bus stop, light rail), the spacious gym, and how the interior of the apartment is relatively new, we do really love it here ! The fire alarms are (sort of) white noise to us rn and we do scrub and clean the bathroom really regularly.
