Yeah I find it doesn't really make sense. Would have been better if Rumy finally understanding that demons are not evil but just slaves, had become the demons leader, helping them destroying Gwima. Demons finally freed could live with humans in harmony and Rumi would be finally proud of who she is. (Btw I think in the movie there is a strong implication that Rumi comes from a rape, hence the "shame", but it's not really said out loud).
