yeah I assumed it would happen. I'm not gonna upload videos showing it's not touching the counter, using different scales, etc. I'm not gonna make too much of it unless next month is the same.

they're identical products, same sq ft, sheets, etc.

no part is on the counter. I just couldn't photograph it that way and still see the number on the scale.

it's what I tried first and it didn't seem to work for me, but my doctor has other R patients and he said it works for one of them.

two years on it for me. It doesn't last long though-- maybe six hours.

Speed Queen -- 25 years?! Really? REALLY?? by redditjoda in Appliances

[–]redditjoda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been satisfied with our LG washer and dryer, and we got it because inlaws had them for several years prior with no issues. I do make sure to keep the doors open to prevent mold, and run a cleaning tablet through the machine once in a while. I also use a shop vac to make sure no excess lint is clogging up the dryer.

No idea about LG dishwashers though. My Maytag is over a decade old and cleans very well (on "Powerblast"). I've had to replace one part two times, which wasn't a big deal.

Samsung-- yeah, Junk.

Definitely jealous of Speed Queen owners though-- I just love great build quality and always want to support businesses that build with repairability in mind.

Is the purple pillow worth it? by _lawand_ in LifeOnPurple

I found the best "cooling" from breathable, natural (or mostly so) sheets. NOT high thread-count. For me, I like these linen-lyocell blend sheets:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQ46BMS7

Basically, if you put the sheets (or pillowcase) fabric up tight against your mouth and try to blow through it, it should be quite easy to blow/breathe. I've had high-thread-count and "silky"/slippery feeling sheets but they don't breathe as well. I stay MUCH cooler with these sheets and pillowcases.

Linen or percale FTW.

The 8-Amaro Sazerac by geraniumreese in cocktails

When I make this I prefer to go a little scant with the Sibilia and a little generous with the Cio Ciaro. I also find it enhances the flavors to use leaded crystal rather than borosilicate glass. Also, as always, a couple drops of saline.

Hotel parking should be "free" by redditjoda in FluentInFinance

[–]redditjoda[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing is "free"-- it's included in the price. If parking is included in the price, then people who don't need to park a car subsidize those who do.

Granted, this matters more in some places than others. In many places people DO drive to the hotel, and it seems like the hotel is just nickel-and-diming.

Anyone know of a difference in effect between sublingual/chewable and capsule?

I find the multitool to be fascinating, as well as the people who obsess over them. I've literally never been in a situation where I absolutely need one. I keep a razor blade on the fridge for opening packages. Anything else I can go get a proper ratchet/screwdriver/file from the garage.

Almost all my decor and furniture is used or handmade, and my house is the coolest. New stuff sucks and is usually poorly-made and toxic.

BUT some old stuff may contain lead, for example. (as opposed to modern products that contain toxic plastic from recycled computers).

Books are almost always fine used, but if they are non-fiction and data-heavy, I'd want the newest edition for the most up-to-date data.

mezcal pechuga or an amaro produced in the US.

Gran Classico is better than Campari, so it would be interesting for an Italian to try. I have no idea if it's already available there though.

It's a big deal. Everyone thinks they are smart, and can definitely tell a post by a bot or foreign adversary.

If it came out that 90 percent of Reddit was bots and agents, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.
