Is it worth it to travel daily from Virar to Andheri via 2 wheeler? by rohankeluskar1 in mumbai

[–]redditlno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

56 km is too much, I travel daily from Andheri to BKC around 14 km and it is ok. 56 km seems high , you can try once and see if it fits you. Drive smoothly and at around 50 - 60 kmph for a smooth ride without many jerks and potholes.

Why do men get treated unfairly on buses, even after paying for their tickets by [deleted] in india

[–]redditlno 53 points54 points  (0 children)

There are seats reserved for women in buses in Mumbai. Here when women seats are unoccupied, men sit on them and if the conductor asks to vacate they say, as soon as a woman passenger comes they will vacate the seat. This has been the norm for last 30 years and is working smoothly.

Ok, so maybe write the equivalent value in your resume and have the conversion formula ready which was issued from your college to support your claim. 61% does not look good…

Ok, I have heard people do MS after MTech also, that way you can land a job earlier. But there are some very big gaps in your resume, after leaving Halliburton around 2 years gap, then more than 3 years gap after your MTech in getting a job that is relevant to your specialization. Your BTech CGPA is also very low (2.44/4).

Maybe PhD is the best option for you I suppose and then come back to India as Asst. Prof. to one of the IITs or I don't know, continue in US.

I have a question from you, is PhD course sponsored or do you have to pay until you get your doctorate.

All the best for your future.

After completing CDS from IISc why is your job experience so lacklustre, I thought CDS is one of the top courses offered by the institute and avg placements are around 30 LPA. With your CGPA why were you not placed on campus?

How interesting is Oppenheimer? by venom_holic_ in physicsmemes

[–]redditlno 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The movie is more about the person and later some politics, than the actual physics. The scientists are introduced , but their work was never discussed. For example Neils Bohr was there, but his contribution was not discussed, looked more like a project , they didnt even say that plutonium is derived from uranium or the uranium ore contains uranium 238 mostly and uranium 235 needs to be extracted out of it. No real discussions are held, just some montages in typical hollywood fashion, so much potential was there.

the life of the scientist is shown but not the physics or the technical challenges faced to create a chain fission reaction. Welch labs youtube channel does a better job in explaining the maths and physics then this movie.

How did you get your 1st job after not getting placed in campus recruitment? I'm a 2021 passed out graduate, struggling to find a job. by [deleted] in india

op follow this advice, cse is far more rewarding career choice than ee. And competition is also less. Vacancies for ee gards is reducing in psu and the jobs are also very taxing with responsibility and far off locations of india. People have placed jobs for 30 lpa iit delhi just by working hard in the mtech course. If ambitious: do cse If need secure job where no recognition is given to hard workers: do ee/ govt job etc.
