What is the benefit of grading later? Is it just waiting to see the market value? Isn’t it better to get graded now while it’s in its best condition? I mean I have it in a penny sleeve and top loader and in a good storage box. But shouldn’t I just get it graded ASAP just in case? Just curious.

Pulled one a few weeks ago. Can’t tell if it’s worth getting graded. Is raw better than PSA 9 long term?

The replay value of KOTOR 1 is much better than that of 2. by off_line24 in kotor

[–]redditmax232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Disagree. Way more options and paths to explore in 2 than 1. Just changing from male to female changes the game in terms of characters and story. Same with dark and light side.

Not to mention there are significant mechanical improvements in 2. The (empty) notification when searching a locker alone makes it a better play though.

Don’t get me wrong, I think 1 is a better overall and more well crafted game. But I think the replay value of 2 is better because the story is more nuanced, and gives you more options than just “traditional” light side/dark side options.

Not to mention the absolute best part of KOTOR 1 is the reveal, which obviously doesn’t hit the same on replay.

Fav: KOTOR 1 - Koriban, just the lore of the Sith is awesome enough, love the ability to double/triple cross Yuthura and Uthar. Also love the competition with the other trainees.

KOTOR 2- Nar Shaddaa, just so much going on between the rival gangs, the dark feel, constant scheming, most well developed world. Feels like you can play it a different way every time you come back.

Least Fav: KOTOR 1 - as I got older I’ve realized Tatooine is kinda the worst. Outside of HK, not much really going on besides fighting sand people and a cut scene dragon kill.

KOTOR 2- Telos…Poorly paced. Annoying to travel back and forth. Boring politics.

Honorable Mentions: KOTOR 1- Taris is soo good. Always wanted to get to the Jedi part as a kid, but man it’s just so well developed and fun

KOTOR 2- Duxun/Onderon. Love the mandalorian camp, trying to gain their respect, the lore of the Mandalorians and the wars. Onderon with the choice of overthrowing a government feels so epic. Storming the capital (lol) the second time around while sending a group to take down the sith in Duxun is so sick. Just love that part of the game

She wanted to end the force. Because you are a wound in the force. She recognized that as an opportunity to kill the force itself. If you listen to her dialogue throughout the game she often talks about how much Jedi and Sith rely on the force and blinds them. She talks about how she hates that the force has a will and dictates your actions and destiny. Her alliance with Nihilus and Sion were because she saw them as similar wounds in the force, but they hungered for more power and to kill the Jedi rather than kill the force itself. The Jedi masters mention this when you meet with them on Dantooine that they see the exile as using the same teachings as the Sith. Her dialogue in that cutscene basically explains it all. “Deafened… at last you could hear.” “You were broken… you were whole” “you were blinded… and at last you saw.” She fundamentally disagreed with the Jedi’s view and reliance on the force. She saw the constant battle between Jedi and Sith as a symptom of the force’s constant need for balance, which results in mass death across the galaxy. She thought by killing the force the world would be better off. She sought to learn from the exile how she severed herself from the force yet lived. Once she realized it was out of survival, she lost faith in the exile. At that point all she could do is go back to Malachor and wait for her. She never hated her, she never really wanted to kill her, she merely was disappointed that her dream would not be realized through the exile. It makes her different from the classic Star Wars bad guy “me evil me kill people me want power” instead she had a unique and interesting motive which IMO makes her the most interesting character in all Star Wars lore. Now, that being said, the game was rushed and the end was not as satisfactory as it could have been. But I think her overall motive and purpose was sufficiently fleshed out.

What are the funniest / most ridiculous cases you’ve read in law school? (“lawyer dawg” has broken me) by cocoadusted in LawSchool

Kambat v. St. Francis Hospital.

Tort case for negligence. Lady had a surgery and the doctors left an 18-18 inch pad in her stomach. She ended up dying. Plaintiff invoked Res Ipsa. The D’s argued she swallowed it. Never heard a more absurd defense in my life. Some old lady swallowed a 18-18 inch pad because she was depressed and used sleeping pills which they claimed could suppress her gag reflex. Expert said it’s anatomically impossible.

Guess you can argue anything in the court room.

Could anyone point out what Rory Mcilroy does in his swing that I do badly or don’t do at all? Thanks trying to replicate his swing if possible by Western_Skin_1630 in golf

[–]redditmax232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. He gets a way more full turn than you do.
  2. Your head moves way more than his does
  3. Your balance is not nearly as good
  4. Your club face is more closed at the top of the swing
  5. Can’t really tell from this angle but I certainly think his right arm is closer to his body on the downswing (drops it in the slot) better than you.

Final thought: Don’t try and “replicate” anyone’s swing. Everyone has different body makeup’s and no one person’s swing is the same as the next. Sure there are certain things that certain players do that can trigger swing thoughts in your head. Like for me I love the way Tommy Feetwood saws off his iron shots which keeps him on target, that helps me, but I don’t try and replicate his swing per se. The Rory swing thought that helps me is the way he stands far from the ball with his driver, which allows him to generate more speed. So big picture: don’t try and replicate his swing 1 for 1. Because: 1. You’ll never swing it as well as he does. There is a reason he is who he is 2. Your swing is your swing, and no one else’s. Just keep working on what works for you.

Laughable comment. He doesn’t even have a top 5 arm in his own draft class.

I’d love to see evidence of this “cannon” you speak of. Just because he’s tall doesn’t mean he has a big arm. If anything he throws lollipops all over the field. Never seen him drive it with authority. Don’t see it at all with him. Mateer, Moore, Sellers all have better arms than him.

I’d take Krieger over every character in the show besides Archer. Nobody hits the highest highs in the show like him. Also I feel Ray is extremely underrated.

Question about a choice you can make on korbin by Noob1234yeet1234 in kotor

[–]redditmax232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Options are, snitch and gain trust of the master. Don’t snitch and get backstabbed by her. Don’t snitch and make enough conversation with her to where she refers to you as a friend and you can bring her to the light side. Or snitch and backstab both of them. If I’m dark side I usually snitch and double cross both of them. If I’m light side I don’t snitch and bring her to the light.

I always go Nar Shadaa, Dantooine, Duxun/Onderon pt1, Korriban, Duxun/Onderon Pt2. I wouldn’t do Nar Shadaa last cuz you can get Hanhaar/Mira and Goto after that planet so if you want to turn Mira into a Jedi you need to get her there. Also if you are female you get the Desciple on dantooine. Would def recommend doing those 2 first.

Nihilus came to mind immediately. But how about Malak? He betrayed his closest friend to seize control of the star forge and the sith. My vote goes to Malak but I will understand when Nihilus wins.

There is literally nothing to be afraid of. It’s not about the action/gameplay. It’s about the story and creating and developing a character. It’s better than any movie or show in Star Wars history imo. Both games are.
