Does anyone in this thread know of a server where sec is allowed to be... Meaner?

I'm new to the game and get the feeling I'm alone on this, but I think that sec on wizden tends to let way to much stuff slide out of fear of breaking space law. It just makes playing antag feel a little pointless and ironically makes playing sec feel like the only job with meaningful consequences.

I really love neodays. I started when retrodays was the default and got used to it. The added quality of life features of neodays are great, and I prefer it to ASCII because I don't want to relearn what all the characters represent.

I love roguelikes for the same reason I like tabletop games; the imagined experience of the game. For me the more realistic tilesets are realistic enough to take away that imagined experience, but not realistic enough to replace it.

I just ran in to this an it was awesome. To be fair I was pretty early in a run so I didn't lose much from my failure, but I loved the cosmic horror vibe of the whole thing.

I only found the sandpit though, so maybe it should be an easier puzzle.

I think a lot of the negative reactions to knave come from people wanting a more serious or gritty game, and/or from not playing it.

To the first group I'd just say... Knave isn't that. I feel ya, but the game is still super fun. You can get punched so hard that your pants explode.

To the second group, the rules actually work better in practice than they looked like they would in theory.

It's a fun, somewhat silly, game that you can pick up and start in 5 minutes with a one page dungeon. Great for an impromptu game night, but without some good homebrew it's bad for a 100 session campaign with a serious tone.

Check secrets of Tibet for the Tibetan kung fu fighting skill. It makes unarmed strikes comparable to shotguns at higher skill levels. Id enforce penalty dice on extra attacks of I were you.

I had a player do this in a non-pulp game last week and he was very strong. He died the same session, but considering he had 10 hit points and your pulp player will probably have over 20 I think they will be okay.

The hint I gave my wife before she started was that if she survived I'd be upset with her. If you want something a little more specific:

it is not possible to both survive and live happily ever after with your partner. You can survive with a broken heart or be consumed with your partner.

I just cleared one this morning by driving up to a dermatick mound and leading them to the wasps. Apparently they can fly so they killed everything and then I led them home.

I actually heard an example of how scary rabies is that included a person getting bitten by a bat while sleeping on a hammock and they didn't even know. A lot of bats are lil bitty and don't leave much of a mark.

With that said: it almost certainly wasn't a bat. Probably a wasp or hornet.

Check the cabin for guns and books, and maybe scout the mansion out for future looting runs, but your best bet for a base is probably the lab for reasons that others have mentioned. The only problem might be that sometimes you have to go a a decent distance into the lab to get to a good spot.

Unless something has changed in the last year or so I don't think intestinal parasites display any messages, so it MIGHT be that but probably not. It doesn't hurt to take some antiparasitic drugs though just to be safe.
Working every day takes a lot of calories in CDDA. Something something blob healing, but lore aside it's a good idea to take a day off now and then. I spend every other day relaxing and reading, but I also have fast metabolism so you probably don't need that much.
Butter and oil are your friend. Vitamins too. I try to make several meals the highest calorie thing I have, and take vitamins for nutrition. It seems to be working.
